Spotted the A330 J and Y seats on the Instagram story of this Qantas Maintenance employee at Brisbane. Hope this mean that the last two A332 will be refurbished soon.

Update: they are from -EBQ which is in C4.

Update 2 : Comment from the employee: " I'm no mind reader but... You might not have to wait long" Speaking about the last two 332 to refurb.

Well that explains why EBQ has been in there for so long. Would have thought a C-Check would be the perfect time to install crew rests etc

Interesting change to my Sin-Mel in March to either EBG/EBL seat map in business. Up until last week it was the new seat map :(

stevenaus was kind enough to PM me with his flight details, which i can confirm have the 2x2x2 seat map in EF.

The mystery deepens as I discovered that around that day QF107 is currently scheduled to be operated by an A333.

Indeed running an ITA matrix code using routing code: qf+ / aircraft t:333
gives me a 333 operating QF107 on

My QF6 flight for saturday 4th march has been cancelled and they have moved me over to a330/300. Found out by accident today when I used the Qantas app on my phone.
No email to advise the change and yes I receive qantas emails all the time. Just wasn't sent at all.
so now I have lost my selected seats. Only chance now is at 80hrs to try to grab a unblocked seat.

Also this morning I heard announced that Qantas will not be flying out of Badgery creek but Jetstar will be going there eventually.

My flight on QF4 tomorrow got changed to a non refurb A330-200. At least I got a refurb on the way over.

I'm thinking HNL Always gets the dregs!

And an A333 VH-QPH is operating to PEK at present. Will be interesting to see if it needs a refueling stop

Would suggest 332 VH-EBG will operate QF3 tonight and tomorrow's QF4 return with ReLoad

yes that's what I travelled on both ways to HNL late november, such a nightmare climbing over the passenger to go to the ladies. So looking forward to the refurnished to singapore. I won't be changed as the EBL & EBL is doing the Beijing run

Well yeah, that has been pretty much announced. I reckon EBG/EBL will be redone as domestic a/c, eg screens in Y covered, WiFi installaed, with at least 5 (and maybe all 8) of the -200's with fixed screen PTV in Y being converted to 'international' config.

I say possibly all 8, as I was talking to the CSM on a flight the other day and he indicated that there was likely to be more international flights being operated by 332's and less domestic with the WA mining boom now over (and presumably Virgin not compeiting head to head). Already heard CGK is looking at going daily for example.

All depends on whatever new lease QF has cut on EBG/EBL. If long enough I'd expect a full refurb with new IFE in Y given these aircraft already have specific crew rests seats with greater than usual recline

The crew rests on these aircraft are reserved seats. Row 55AB/56AB and row 1AB on longer flights. So not sure why that would make any difference what so ever. What they do have however is the larger galley space and the two toilets, both of which are features that are rumored to be planned for the new sub fleet. Time will tell...

I would treat that with some skepticism... the airport isn't even built yet.

So appears that A333 VH-QPH made it to and from PEK without needing a fuel stop. Wonder how loaded it was.

Judging from the seat map I saw on expertflyer, it appears the flight was very close to full in Y with only row 58 (the last row) blocked. Wonder if they took less cargo to compensate for the full pax load so to avoid a fuel stop along the way.

Interesting. Well done to the yield management team then to predict an oversell, upgauge the aircraft and sell most of the seats.
Presumably additional CNY demand.

But yet another reason why EBG/EBL need to have s consistent product

Assume a swap back ReLoad. Seems like VH-QPH is operating QF3 and the non-refurbs operating 5/6 and 107/108

With the swap back to a non refurb 8 people that were in J on QF4 today ended up in whY.

There was one fantastic dummy spit from a points upgrade person.

Luckily I was in paid J. In saying that I'd probably have swapped for ORC and a refund :)
