ALL QF's 330's to get lay flat Business seating - Including Domestic

It also stated that "The inaugural international A330 flight, QF35, also saw the introduction of a limited edition Oroton amenity kit" which is a flight TO Asia rather than FROM Asia so I thought I would clarify.

The seat looks handsome if a bit pokey but I'll give it a go to SIN and HKG. Never a fan of the much overrated SQ seat and not a huge fan of the CX service experience so if only QF had some better frequency and ongoing connections it could be a winner.

Is it correct that VH-QPA has had an unplanned lay over in Singapore due to seating problems ?

Doesn't look like it. Flight history for QPA on theqantassource.com and flightradar24 don't show any major issues to the schedule at all since reentered service with the new seats.
It does show a 1 hour delay to today's QF81 SYD-SIN.

Thinking of booking a trip from SYD-SIN over the Easter long weekend but I guess it really is a lottery if I'll end up flying on the refurbed aircraft...

Reckon you could be 80% + sure of getting new cabin by Easter. Qantas say they will be turning out a newly reconfigured plane every month / 3 by the end of March. Question is why in hell would you want to go to Singapore by choice, it is expensive and boring with the worst service on the planet

You can follow VH-EBV here VH-EBV

I got hit in the feels yesterday. My flight tonight was supposed to be on the new bird ... Instead it's now the old Jetstar config.

Seriously thinking about switching to Virgin for this flight.

Instead it's now the old Jetstar config.

You do of course mean the Qantas domestic config? Afterall the supposed Jetstar handme downs were originally ordered and operated by Qantas domestic (with no seat change when they went and returned from Jetstar), or in the case of a few delivered new to Jetstar had the same seats and facilities as new build A330's being delivered to Qantas at the same time.

I did exactly that just a couple of days ago and refurbed a/c are scheduled on both the MEL-SIN QF35/36 and SYD-SIN QF81/82 at this stage.

By April there should be at least two, if not three refurbed A330-300 finished.

Definitely nowhere near 80% chance, I would say. The international fleet is currently done at a stage of one per month, so we're only looking at around 3 aircraft max by Easter. Even if they put all of them onto the SIN routes, they fly 4 A330s to SIN every day so someone would still be missing out even if that's the case.

This might be a silly question but you can't actually check which aircraft has been scheduled until after you have booked the flights and you go to MMB to select seats, right?

You can always use expertflyer to look at the seat maps.

The way I see it, you can't actually check which aircraft has been scheduled until after you've boarded it.

What's the config where there's 1EF, and then 2DF (i.e., seat 2D has unlimited leg room as there's no seat in front). I thought that was a JQ hand-me-down?
