ALL QF's 330's to get lay flat Business seating - Including Domestic

I couldn't find the answer in any other threads so I'll ask here. In the 333's with new J seats there are no seats 23J and 23K, so 24J and 24K are bulkhead seats. But QF is not charging the extra legroom fee (as for 23A, 23B) for MEL-SIN. Has anyone sat in 24J? Is the only reason QF not charging for the seat is because of frequent equipment change while the fleet is being upgraded?

I asked the same question three weeks ago. Hopefully someone will eventually report if 24J/K have reasonable legroom.

Any news on timing for QF30 HKG-SYD getting new config?

SeatGuru says old A330 for the dates I am looking at in May.

Might to via SYD to get the 747 and the extra SC's :)

Looking at the seat maps, the new config is available on QF29/30 on a few days. Also note that QF128 may be operated by an old config A330.

EEEEeeeeeekkkkk

Seat Guru suggests an old V1 747 like the ones that used to ply the SYD-SIN-FRA route

Say it ain't so

28/5/15

I am sure it is just Seat Guru out of date

It shows an old 3 class (ie no row 5 exit row) or was there 2 different refurb configs??

QF127 shows as refurb 744 on expertflyer
QF29 shows as old config A333

Ok thanks, I thought there was only one version of refurb 747

Updated based on the FT visit

-- Current aircraft in Brisbane maintenance
VH-QPC 330-300 In 17/1 (likely out end-March)
VH-QPB 330-300 In 16/2 (fresh from SIN repaint) (likely out end-April)
Both refurbs in conjunction with C8 check in which the plane is totally stripped

-- Refurbished aircraft in service
VH-EBV 330-200 - 1mth 15days - In 16/11 Out 31/12
VH-QPA 330-300 - 2mth 13days - In 3/11 Out 16/1
VH-EBA 330-200 - 1mth 12days - In 1/1 Out 13/2

-- In Singapore for painting (presumably) -300s only (all the -200s are already New Roo apart from the JQ aircraft)

-- Reported as next
VH-EBS, VH-EBJ (on JQ return)

So by end-April with 3 -300s that would be sufficient for all SYD/MEL-SIN flights (QF5/6/35/36/81/82)

However, based on the seat maps in EF, they are looking to start up both BNE-SIN and MEL-HKG before QF5/6 getting the new config regularly. Also keep in mind that QF5/6 can sometimes be flown with a -200, which further complicates the matter.

I am on QF82 tomorrow night and my 333 looks to have been subbed out for a 4 class 744.

I'm currently bronze (this flight will get me to silver and my next one to gold); expertflyer says seats 3E and 3F are blocked - any thoughts on if the call centre might be nice and help me with a seat in that cabin? The QF website is bugging out when I'm trying to browse seats; EF showing all upper deck blocked along with half the rest of the seats, with what look like a bunch of savvy WPs in most of the F seats...

3E/F are available to me as a WP, but upstairs is all blocked. I'm guessing that they won't bother seat anyone up there to save a cabin crew from working. Apart from that, J looks quite empty (as one would expect with a late sub from an A333 to a 744). The way I see it, it really comes down to luck if you give them a call, although chances would be slim. And you might want to do so before the rest of the upgrades are processed in a few hours time.

Erm EBM was also in the hangar last saturday, but buttoned up so not sure what state it was in, or what it was in there for. QPC is currently gutted so will be awhile before it's out :)

So I had the pleasure on flying MEL-SYD on 21/02 and SYD-MEL today, both on EBV in J. I have to say, I love the new seats. I can see that it might not be ideal for couples, with no removable divider, but still an amazing step up. (Though that perhaps can be rectified by simply cutting a hole in the existing dividers and installing some kind of sliding panel.)

Now to replace those awful drooping skybeds on the A380...

Was mentioned that anything in the middle is just in for minor maintenance - couple of days type stuff

Re: Emirates 777 or Qantas A330-300

Can anyone tell me the likelihood of getting the new J on QF BNE-SIN in October (most likely 15th if that helps).

I would say extremely high considering that QF is going for SIN saturation first. Expertflyer is currently showing new J.

Fantastic! Exactly what I wanted to hear! Thanks!
