They really do not have room to stow your hand luggage by your seat.
No, I wouldn't have expected they would. Where did you get that idea from?

Updated log based on YSSY posts which suggests QPF will ferry back from SIN tonight as QF6010.
Also Refurb date nominated for QPE (which may suggest QPI is only a 1-mth conversion)
Updated based on Qantas Source posts / FR24 data / YSSY board / above
Not sure why all the different refurb turnaround times
moa999 - how do I work out which plans fly the QF5/6 routes so I can match them up to your refurb update log?
While this article is largely about QF''s probable order for B787-9s, the last paragraph has a change to A332 operations with fewer on MEL- PER and more between SYD and BNE from October:
Qantas flies closer to new 787 Dreamliner fleet after pilots accept pay deal
I could not yet see a specific QF media release about this on its website, but this must be further evidence of how transcontinental passenger numbers are gradually declining with the ending of the labour intensive LPG offshore production phase along with the poor iron ore price that are both contributing to lower employment in this most important natural resources sector. Bureau of Infrastructure, Transport and Regional Economics monthly figures always have a lag but they are starting to show this, along a slight decline overall in monthly air passenger numbers Australia-wide.
Thanks again to moa999 for his excellent, amazingly detailed work on keeping everyone informed about the A332/A333 refurbishments.
a 77W with coffin seating rather than herringbone? Unless you mean regional configuration? (I assumed you meant international because of of the article on the new seats).
Indeed the herringbone which I hate so remember. This year have had the 330s which have the new seat.
Easy to comprehend - the Odd numbered "window" seats are adjacent to the aisle so have strait forward access while the even one are adjacent to the window and need a 'chute' to enable PAX to access them. The odd numbered window seats have an extra storage area in them that the even ones don't. Go figure!

It's the space not required for a 'chute' in the odd numbered seats that is used for additional storage.
