ALL QF's 330's to get lay flat Business seating - Including Domestic

Same thing happened with my friend last month coming back from Shanghai. Old, then new, then old again.

Solution? Last weekend QF was asking $6300 to fly to Shanghai. But there was reluctance to fly Qantas until fleet can be guaranteed. So the revenue went to SQ.

SQ isn't much better at times. Flew back on a coughpy old 777 with torn leather seats a week ago

torn seat I wouldn't care. as long as it's full flat. Booking and anticipating a suite on QF only to have it wrenched away a couple days before departure is not good for business.

Fully flat on SQ but you have to lie twisted like a pretzel and little support in upright position either.

VH-QPE just returned from test flight as QF6115 (will be the 6th A330-300 refurb)

QPF (its likely replacement in the shed) currently tracking MEL-HKG as QF29. Could possibly do QF98 tonight and swap in morning.

I am hoping that with QPE coming into service shortly and QPF going out that my chances of my non-refurb in early Nov turning back into a refurb are better now. Will be checking my seatmap often :)

Will theoretically be a 2 in 3 chance on a 330-300 (6 of 9 aircraft flying) once the swap occurs

As I mentioned in another thread, this changing, failure to guarantee on specific routes, and/or failing to offer compensation when an old aircraft is substituted at last minute is costing QF money in lost revenue - $11500 in the last month alone from me.
Have they really lost a cent from you? I take it you would not have booked them in their original configuration, so if they were not being upgraded you wouldn't book. So they have lost nothing.

Indeed they have lost the revenue.

Booked a one-way PVG-SYD, it was scheduled to be a refurb A330. Two days before departure, changed to Mk1.

On that basis, for the next two trips (2 returns in one month), the choices were QF, SQ, CA or CX. CA was sold out and QF was ruled out because of the chance of a Mk1 sub.

If the original PVG-SYD had stayed as the suite, at least the next flight would have been booked on QF, no questions. (Granted if that flight had been subbed for a Mk1, the second trip probably would have gone to SQ or CX.)

So minimum $6300 lost in revenue, and with the second trip, a total of $11500.

If QF had an envelope with $1000 cash in it for the 'downgrade', or offered a credit of 50,000 QFFF points, we would have booked QF for the next two tickets.

The seats on the regional 777 and A330's are angled flat. And the A380, yep agree you need to lie all twisted and as a seat it is cough.

Looks like Honolulu got some New Business Suite love Friday Oct 2nd. Mate just txt me that his QF4 to Sydney has new Suites. He's one very happy chappy :)
Look's like VH-QPD had the honours.

QPE on 2nd test flight as QF6126. QPF off to HKG

QPF returning however as QF30 to Mel so no swap on Sun 4 Oct, albeit QPE reported scheduled for QF97 on Sun

Interesting an A330-300. No single dunny issue for the J cabin!

And QPE back in service as QF97 making 6 A330-300s.

Will update tracker once QPF goes into shed

QPE with a MNL diversion on its first flight after Refurb as QF97.

As expected QPF coming back to BNE as QF98

QPF hasn't gone in for the refurb yet as it's off to SIN today as QF51. Should be back tomorrow morning on QF52.

:-). Too quick on the draw.

Also potentially because of QPEs excursion to MNL, meaning it is operating a 12hr late QF30 today

VH-QPI is presently flying from BNE to what looks like SYD as (ferry flight?) QF6198. It took off from BNE at 1302 local time (1402 AEDT.)

I assume that this has nothing to do with the NRL (or AFL) Grand Finals. The A330 departures that I snook a look at this morning ex BNE all departed pretty much on time. The HKG to MEL flight delayed from last night departed at 0850 this morning instead of the planned 0830 (due in MEL at 2100 not 2040 tonight) but this was referred to above.

Suspect QPI is headed for MEL to operate whatever QPE was meant to (and hence QPF got shuffled to MNL)
