AMEX rejection

Hi just wanna share My experience. No issue with credit score, income etc. After more than 18mths since closing Amex Velocity :
Feb 2024: closed CBA , then Applied and got granted ANZ
April 24: applied for Amex Explorer - rejected
June 24: applied for Wstpac - granted
Oct 24: closed AnZ then straightaway applied for AMEX Platinum personal - rejected

The next day, I applied for Amex Plat Business. Waited 4 business days before receiving an email from an actual person saying there was issue with ABN details etc. I called them the next day on business line and the staff helping me basically went above and beyond to show they really wanted me as cus LOL. ABN issue sorted, pretty much instant approval without having to provide any docs.

I think i read a few times in this thread for the biz plat, no documents including tax statements/revenue at all?

So anyone with an ABN can get an Amex Business card without docs? This seems very reckless.
No expert but I guess the fact that it's a Charge rather than credit card, mitigates somewhat

My P2 got rejected for a card - anyone know how long till can reapply - is it 30 days or 90 days?
Thanks
I was told 90 days but as we know front line agents may or may not know what they are talking about so I guess ymmv

I am planning on waiting like a solid 6 months of just don't touch equifax credit file and hope that this is somehow enough.

P2 for rejected twice in 40 days
Income 130K
No credit cards
Equifax is very good
No mortgage or bills as comes from P1

Frustrating

CSR was useless he just read out saying rejected for confidential reasons and letter will come
The letter last time just said you don’t meet the criteria

Wish there was a real person could actually speak to
Might get a HSBC Premier card for free to just have a card on the credit history for P2

Adding a data point. Rejected for the Amex Plat, first card rejection ever. I've been churning a few cards a year lately and then I have two others which I do not churn, average age of credit is about 3 years for those.

Last time I've had an Amex was in 2022 which I kept for about 4 years. Was looking to replace the Citi Prestige as my main card.

My first ever rejection is the plat as well. Although they give me the card after resolving an issue with mistakenly recorded default in their file for me (and which is not in credit files from Equifax and Experian).

Did you have to do any special for them to tell you the actual reason for the rejection? From what I hear they don't have to explain the reason. I haven't called Amex to enquire but probably should give it a go.

I called them and asked for manager. And they mentioned I have a default but that's a mistake.
They also sent a letter which says nothing.

I had a similar recent experience - 20 year with Amex and now off
Called
Asked for a manager- not an option
Spoke on chat
Sent email to address given
No response other than generic letter
Pretty useless
It’s very AI bot response in my opinion - no room for human intervention
