I just applied and was accepted instantly, well under the income requirement. Now where to go...

My niece applied last week and was approved. She doesn't meet the minimum income requirement.

She received her card today and they've given her a $16,000 limit!

Ironically, when I got my card, they advised that they took into consideration the credit limit I already have on my existing Amex card. Noted also when logging into my new Amex card account, it states member since 2013. What does "existing card member" actually mean when applying for another Amex cc in relation to receiving bonus points? I'm not complaining

Can we family pool lounge passes? I'm about to refer my wife & apart from the points, she won't be needing the lounge passes.

no, I watch a number of 'free' lounge passes expire unused every year as they aren't transferable in any way...

Wouldn't that be an excellent real "enhancement" for status flyers - transfer your lounge pass (not your earned lounge membership, but complimentary passes) to a member of your family pool?

When you go to the 'Refer a friend' page of the Amex website, it asks you to select which card you hold first.

If you hold the Velocity Platinum I would suggest then you can select that, if you dont you cant. Or maybe you can, but then not get the points.

I have the Edge, but selected Vel Plat and so far have had 3 lots of 20k points

$55k. It's not a question on the application though. And, she checked her credit score before applying and it came back at 860 or there abouts.

Someone mentioned that there was a cut off point for the number of referrals you are allowed . It seems to be 10.

I have successfully used 4 free lounge passes over the last year or so.

1st - Called lounge in the morning asked them to check the free lounge passes on my account and informed them that a friend would be attending the lounge that morning to use.
2nd/3rd - Gave a couple friend my Velocity card and told them to get the lounge staff to check the "Free lounge access passes" on my account. They where provided entry and the passes removed from my account
4th - Wife entered lounge and gave them my Velocity number and got them to check "Free lounge access passes" on my account. Access granted and pass removed from account.

Given that current Amex card holders weren't entitled to receive the bonus points for this offer but have, I'm wondering if Amex actually stuck to the above cap for the referrers?
