Alright - I'm going to give this one a shot despite only having my DJ's Amex for a few months.

You need to already have the Amex Velocity Platinum card to be able to offer this referral. You cannot offer this card if you only have the Plat Edge card.

Where does it say this? I was going to refer the missus... found the link after logging in into my Plat Edge card and it appears as though I can refer - it says they'll get 110k and I'll get 20k. Can you please let me know where it says you can't I don't wanna get caught out.

When you go to the 'Refer a friend' page of the Amex website, it asks you to select which card you hold first. When I select platinum edge, it only lets me refer the platinum edge or the platinum rewards card. Are you sure you're selecting the platinum edge when choosing your card?

If you hold the Velocity Platinum I would suggest then you can select that, if you dont you cant. Or maybe you can, but then not get the points.

When you attempt to generate a referral you need to enter in your card number. I would suggest that this means you can't generate a referral without legitimately holding a Velocity Platinum card.

Last time I tried to do this, Amex won't let me do this. It has to be a return ticket.

Return as in origin and destination must be same? ie MEL-HBA / LST-MEL not acceptable?

Just another data point- my husband was approved yesterday (within a day of applying)
He works part time, so only made the income requirements because we have rental income.
So if you're hesitating because of this criteria, don't! Give it a whirl

From what I've seen no income verification is done at all. I wouldn't be surprised if my neighbours dog was approved, assuming of course he didn't get hooked on store cards when he was a young pup.

My niece applied last week and was approved. She doesn't meet the minimum income requirement.

I just applied and was accepted instantly, well under the income requirement. Now where to go...
