Amount of Qantas Points in Your Acccount

Wow. How on earth are people earning hundreds of thousands of points for a 1m+ point balance?! Is it just through lots of flying in premium cabins?

Anyone who has read any of my posts re Qantas would know I am a devout lover of Qantas. But one of the very few areas I really truly fundamentally disagree with their policies is in regard to the cost of FF point redemptions. I believe that points flights should be "free"!

I have quite a few points at the moment. Just don't want to spend the cash that would be required to redeem them!!

That is wrong :/

Have to suck it up, I'm afraid, Juddles. I'm lining up some J redemptions for next year to grab in a couple of weeks when they open. Even with the cash outlay, the value is exceptionally good. Not saying where I'm going (but not SCL ;):(. More of Brazil is on the list - but not around Olympics time, so that's out till 2017), so YMMV.

It has a tendency to help - as does STATUS...;):).

Meanwhile, the ATO reapers are in a world of their own ;).

I think my sons think I am in a world of my own JohnM. I have shared ATO points with them as well because we can.

Mr Natalie, Jnr and I are probably sitting at around 650k points. No intention to use them at the moment. I plan on taking us on an OS trip in 2 or 3 years (ideally in J, but realistically PE at a minimum) so happy to just keep collecting for the time being. I'm expecting them to be worth much less than they currently are but since we aren't in a position to travel anytime soon (#2 arriving in the next month or so) I can continue to research the trip in my head.

wow, just done a quick calculation in the past 2 years, I have redeemed over 1 million points...

Given the numbers that have been revealed here, I reckon, if we all got together, we must have a chance at buying out Jetstar?

Or better still, Qantas International?

Credit card spend. I have only been a member fore 16 months and have racked up 240000 most of that from using my AMEX at 1.5 points per dollar, i use it for everything I purchase where amex is accepted.

ATO is one. Bankwest has the potential to be another.

The bulk of my points come through domestic flying, international travel when bonuses are on and Qantas vouchers.

Wow loving the responses guys. Great to see everyone ready to burn them on Long Haul premium cabins. best use in my opinion.

Amount of points banked on this thread - we should get an AFF charter QF flight ha! I remember LH offering private jet for point redemption ha!

token, you are aiming so low you will undermine my QFI takeover idea.

About 680K at the moment, waiting to get to 1 mil for absolutely no reason in particular.

baby steps juddles. I know for a fact if i rope in a few CC earners i know, your plan is on its way ;)

Just managed to go over 300,00 - but no idea on what to do with them as every trip is with the family, and I doubt I will be allowed to go sit in business class and see the wife and kids when I get there.... plus redemption is becoming a problem with the routes I want to do, or the fact you have to book too far in advance!

Just burnt some for a F trip to LHR for myself and Mrs next year. Together we around 300,000 remaining.
