Another double SC promo already?

I just love reading the theories on who should and who shouldn't receive targetted double SC offers.

FWIW I was status matched Platinum and have earned ~80 SCs with an anniversary of early September 2012 and did not receive the offer. I would have thought I was a prime candidate for a double SCs offer but alas I am not. Not that I could book anymore flights between now and then anyway as all my flights are booked up to end of August already....

Firstly - I'm a matched WP, 70 credits away from requal due September.... so not sure why I got it...

Second - does anyone know from previous double status credit promos, if I pool them to the SO, do double get pooled or only if I keep them?

thanks
m

Yes it should pool - with the double SCs/Points on J fares last month, they all went across, not just the base SCs/Points.

Got the email also and was readable. I will re qualify for platinum with a flight to Perth tomorrow with other flights already booked for the rest of the week so don't think it is targeted except for the criteria of being platinum.

My partner is platinum and didn't receive it, so it must be targeted somehow.

I am a PS and I got it but 80 credits away from SG and need by August.. based on my existing bookings over before then only need one more flight at double SC to attain SG

Australia's highest-earning Velocity Frequent Flyer credit card: Offer expires: 21 Jan 2025
- Earn 60,000 bonus Velocity Points
- Get unlimited Virgin Australia Lounge access
- Enjoy a complimentary return Virgin Australia domestic flight each year

I was status matched last and so far 4 journeys - each cash and points - so no SC's earned at all.

Double SC offered to both me and SWMBO who has not travelled since being matched.

FWIW, any earning travel I might do is likely to be credited to Air NZ

Nothing here. In fact, I don't think I've ever had a targeted promo.

Oh well, maybe I've been too critical of the DJ performance of late (heavens, the cardinal sin might have been calling the ATR a cough plane )

I also got the email offer but on opening it found the greeting and salutation with nothing in between. I wonder if the fact I received the email at all means I have been activated for the offer. Can someone that got the full text confirm if all you need to do is book and travel within the set period.

Meggsy, here is the small print at the bottom of email:

"Terms and Conditions

^This offer is available to Velocity members who have received this email only. To earn double Status Credits, members must book and fly on a Virgin Australia marketed and operated flight between 27 March and 30 June 2012 inclusive. This offer is strictly non-transferrable. Single or return sectors qualify, and can be flown in either direction. Flights must be booked in a fare class that is normally eligible for Status Credits accrual. Double Status Credits will be awarded based on originally purchased fare class, and any complimentary upgrades will not result in additional Status Credits. Flights purchased as part of a Blue Holidays package will earn Velocity Points at the standard Blue Holidays Points earn rate and are not eligible to earn Status Credits. "

I am in pretty much the same situation, originally status matched to silver, an only need 90 SC to reach gold.... However didn't receive the email :(

I wish i got this :(
Would have justified me booking 2 return flexis (sneaky upgrade to biz why not?) and pushed me over into plat.

Received the email but .. sigh.. Really hope this can arrive a bit later. If I miss it this round, does anyone think there will be another double SC promo by the end of the year?

Edit: Just realised that because it's targeted offer, others in my family pool will not receive double SC. :(

I'm Gold and got this email. Does anyone know (from past experience) if it only applies to DJ flight numbers? Or do VA flight numbers count too?

I received the e-mail with no content as well. Given that I've already re-qualified as Platinum with some time to go before rolling over to the new year - there's little point in offering me double SCs (yes, I know I could aim for Partner Gold/Platinum .. but without a partner that's somewhat pointless :p)

Both MrsF and I have requalified for Plat til end of 2013 got it.....
Am thinking of tipping them to her mum or similar.

VA flight numbers should count as the T&Cs say "Virgin Australia operated flights" which are both DJ and VA. It didn't say that it doesn't apply to Longhaul.

I hit Gold at the end of January but didn't receive the email. I'd love to know the metrics used to determine the target audience for this promo.

After reading the thread it seems this offer is targeted at those who will definitly requalify anyway. Which means the offer doesn't actually cost Virgin anything but it makes them look good. Let's face it, its all about marketing.

I am a BIS Platinum and expect to requalify without any problems but looking at my current status it could go either way, which may or may not be why I didn't see this offer.

Just a theory.

Ive already requal gold, Review 29 Nov 12, but have been flying QF a fair bit, and the next month or two absolutely nothing, sitting on 727 SC, would have been nice to get a Double SC offer here, it may convince me to switch everything back to virgin, which would be nice. (TBH I have been flying QF, because having already requal DJ Gold, Im trying to hit QF Gold again, and come closer to review date, I will send it all to DJ to get platinum, very close to review date (Why waste 8 months of Gold))
