Another double SC promo already?

Well I just received it but it's still no use to me. Double points next time please.

I received the offer. Platinum here, matched last year, but still sitting on 0 SCs (cash+points flights only).

A real shame it says that I must book my flights from today onwards, as I have travel coming up in a couple of weeks that is earning but obviously was booked before I received the email. Argh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :( Life's cruel fate..... even Virgin Australia can't or won't save me out of this one...

Just to make sure - we don't have to "opt in", right? Not like QF where you still need to click the magic button to register....

I have had one double sc offer on qf. Once. Just after I requaled.

I seem to miss out on all the targeted candy (I'm around 200 SCs short of requal and will comfortably get it anyway).

Oh to know the algorithm ;)

I received an email this afternoon,

I already have a booking locked in, I wonder if I canceled the booking and made a new booking whether it would reset.

Not too worried I ain't going to requalify as Platinum I just don't do enough flying and don't have enough money.

Now Gold for next year I will put a bit more effort into retaining Gold which means lounge.

One theory is for the matched people it could be on the lead up to your QF membership year end(Dj logged this When status matching remember).

The obvious benefit is that virgin will get more bookings, but the other benefit is that QF will miss on the ticket sales they otherwise could have counted on. If you can't make money, having your competitor lose some is almost as good.

I will be plat renewed in a couple of weeks. Still got the offer. Do they want me to get the unobtanium status level?

Just got the offer.

Cancelled all my existing flights and rebooked. Seems silly. At least the call center staff are bright, cheerful and flirty!

I hear Virgin Platinum Two has great benefits like special unreadable red text on the card ;p

Just got one as well.

Already requalified as Plat and currently pooling SWMBO towards requalifying Plat.

I will use this - 4 comp upgrades per person per year will do me nicely for MEL/SYD-PER trips - might even tempt me into pooling my daughter as well to get 12 comp upgrades for next year.

It's an extraordinarily long double SC offer period.

After reading the thread it seems this offer is targeted at those who will definitly requalify anyway. Which means the offer doesn't actually cost Virgin anything but it makes them look good. Let's face it, its all about marketing.

I don't think so. I'm sitting on 300 SCs (will be 400 with currently booked flights) and half way through my year. So on track, but there's no guarantee that I'd make it.

I was going to ask if this worked for existing bookings (as the wording is potentially unclear) but it appears the answer is no which makes me a sad panda as all my flights out to June are already booked ... with DJ. Would have been nice to extend this to existing bookings ...

SG here... I was going to book a few flights over the weekend - but might hold out for a bit just in case they catch me in a 3rd tranche.

I was a bit peeved, having upgraded flexi to business the night before the half price upgrades promo started - please don't do this to me again!

I made Platinum for the first time about 3 days ago and received the double SC offer tonight.

I was about to book some flights over easter in Y, but they will now be in J with some extra stops

I'll re qualify before June as Platinum again

Thanks Virgin

I am a BIS Platinum and expect to requalify without any problems but looking at my current status it could go either way, which may or may not be why I didn't see this offer.

Just a theory.

I'm pretty much the opposite... status match Silver & not even close to re-qualify for Silver... cue the violins!

So, a little surprised to get this offer - although, I originally thought I'd let Velocity lapse because I don't have much flying planned in the next few months... but now, I'm considering directing what would've been QF flights towards Virgin and at least retain Silver for another year.

This is the first targeted offer I've had from Velocity. Interestingly enough, today i also received in the post an offer for an Amex Velocity Platinum card.
