Are you referring to the black Amex, what charges will the ATO levy?

Black for me; however the uncapped benefit is across all FF cards Credit Card Comparison - Compare ANZ Credit Cards | ANZ

The charges remain the same for all cards; Amex @ 1.45% ... M'card/Visa @ 0.42%

I may apply for the Black as the 50000 sign on bonus, the 1.5 FFP/$ on the AMEX, no first year annual fee, bonus points on QF purchases and the Asia lounge access is better than my Bankwest QF Platinum (the Visa earn rate and FX charges are not).

Applied last night for the Black and got referred. Received an email very early this morning (AWST) stating they want verification of income (payslips and bank statements). This is fair enough I suppose as I am not an ANZ customer.

However, as I applied for the minimum, I would have thought they could of approved the application subject to income verification. They are being a bit more rigorous than the last time I applied for an ANZ card (which must be close to ten years ago now).

Well I feel a bit stupid - turns out I applied for the basic blue card, not the black, by mistake.

Phoned up to see if I could switch it, they said visit a branch, went to branch, they gave me a form to fill in which doesn't include the black as an option.

Sigh. Wondering if it's worth to keep chasing, given I'm sure they'll try to weasel out of the first year free if I switch!

Just apply for the black and harvest another 50k

.... now why didn't I think of that? I guess I didn't think about the fact you can have 2 products from one bank

*smacks forehead*

Edit: actually, nope that won't work if I read the T+C correctly.
"Offer available to new and approved applicants who apply for an ANZ Frequent Flyer, ANZ Frequent Flyer Platinum or ANZ Frequent Flyer Black credit card account by 26 August 2014"
"The bonus Qantas Points offer applies only once per new ANZ Frequent Flyer, ANZ Frequent Flyer Platinum or ANZ Frequent Flyer Black credit card account."

I hope your wrong k_sheep. That's not the advice I was given when clarifying my application for a second card nor the experience of others on this thread.

Exactly. Once per new one of each of those accounts!

I applied for the Black, but still no 50 000 points in the ANZ at least, I am an existing Platinum customer, so I am worried that the 50 000 may not apply to me, especially since I was referred and then approved by taking $20000 from my Platinum credit limit ($35000) to set up the Black for $20000. I was told that any sign up bonus should still be comming my way, just a bit wary of anything that is such a good deal. O well I will just be patient and see what happens, in the meantime I may apply for the basic incase the 50000 bonus does come through, then 100 000 points will be better.

Told my friend about this offer, as he has to go to the UK with 5 people for an urgent family matter, couldn't wait for the card, so I offered him mine and 30 000 points later he has already transfered the money back, yes a bit risky but a good trustworthy friend he is.
The airfare was $12 000 (so 1.5 x 12000 on amex black = 18 000 points plus 1 extra point on Qantas product = 12 000 points)

OH did the same thing. Three different call centre people said three different things. Lodged a complaint, fixed within 24 hours.

I have to make a payment next week which is above my credit limit. Would I be able to deposit the amount into the card so it is in surplus, and make the payment following this? Would FF points be credited?

ANZ website and Qantas Website still suggest 26 Aug - though october is listed for the Rewards (not QFF) card - was the mention only verbal?

My particular reasoning for this is I only very recently applied for Amex Qantas Ultimate for a $250 Qantas return flight +50k promotion (which is decent ex Perth) and don't want to damage the rating too much :)

Was only verbal when providing my id documents in the branch. Girl simply said it was on until October. I can't confirm anything beyond what she said.

Website is only showing anz rewards as offering 50k pts until late October. 50k Qantas points still only until 26 Aug.

Meanwhile I've been watching the frenzy over this card and as a velocity ff member have been holding back. I think it's time to go for this one. Couple of questions though: 1) anyone had any experience with DEFT rent payments being an eligible transaction? 2) have 2 cc's currently, and last CC applied for was 3-4 months ago; best just going for a basic? I already have an anz cc for a balance transfer (not a points earner)

1. I've heard these cards earn on most transactions including ATO but not sure.

2. Should be fine with any of them if you last was a few months ago and you have had a good credit record in general. If you after just the points then basic is fine but if you want to use it as an earner then of Black so you get the higher earn rates.

I used AmericanExpress Black for gift card purchase and got 2280 for $1520 spend but NO 50K points bonus?
Only shows in Qantas Frequent Flyer account.
Do I need to call?
How long after paying the bill did the bonus points how up to those 3 pages back that got their BONUS points?

I've clocked up >10K on my Amex black with points already posting in my QFF account - no bonus, yet. I'm not expecting the 50K bonus to post for a few months as per T&C mentioned upstream.

Now shifting spend over to SWMBO Investec card to grab the 100,000 QFFP bonus :D

How long after getting the card do they send you your first statement? Is it one month? And then how long do they give you to pay? Is it another month?

I think I've overspent and I'm just trying to budget.

Depends on when you get your card.
I received my first statement about 7 days after i received my card, it seems like their statement cycles are fixed (approximately 18th-17th) so expect your first statement to come sometime around the 23rd/24th.
You'll have approximately 3 weeks to pay it off.

I know those with the basic card have started receiving their sign up bonus, anyone with the black cards received theirs yet?

I just had my first statement on Saturday (10/8), Originally applied on 7/7, wasn't approved until 21/7 and didn't get the cards until 23/7. The statement is from 10/7-10/8

Go figure that one out.
