Payment was due on the 8th, they emailed me on the 16th to tell me about it !!

There's no such person in Australia. I assume you mean the Financial Ombudsman or the Credit Ombudsman?

Didn't there use to be a banking ombudsman ? Whoever, if I don't get satisfaction, I'll be escalating to the appropriate bodies.

For anyone still considering applying late in the game approvals are still happening in a decent timeframe for some.

My wife applied for the basic card Monday 11th (8pm), referred, approved Thurs 14th (7pm).

Basic card appears the go if you want your points within the month.

Applied Wed and was referred; late in the day I had an email asking for Payslips etc... as I have just started a new job, I decided I'd have to wait it out two weeks until I got one to send.

Got a phone call Thursday lunchtime - I explained my situation, and they asked me to email a copy of my new contract and an old payslip from my last employer. Did that Saturday, so will see how it goes from there.

I actually expected to be knocked back as I have only just started work again after 3 months redundancy, so am pretty happy with how proactive ANZ have been.

What is it saying for these referrals that get followed up asking for more information? I applied but it said "we can't make a decision because we need to verify your income. Please send..." at the end of the process.

No one from ANZ has contacted me so I guess they received it.

Follow up after a few days. I sent everything twice and they never responded and I had to ring a third time to get approved!

Here you go 1800 092 098
Thank you for that - will give it a try.
I looked at the ANZ card site and some of the fancier cards eg platinum seem to automatically come with a visa and an amex.
Is is possible to just get one ?
I imagine if you do not want to use the visa card for example - you just rip it up.
The fee for two cards seems to be the same as for one.
The ANZ insurance covered by the more expensive ones does actually include a whole list of common pre existing medical conditions - looks very attractive to me.

Unsure if anyone else has noticed this but according to the website Online statements | ANZ the Frequent Flyer Black card is not eligible for online statements.
My statement period is from 7/7 - 4/8 with payment due on 29/8/14. As of today (18/8) I have not received any email notifying me of a statement or a paper based statement posted out to me.
I called today and requested their BPAY code (6007) and what my customer reference number (CRN) is to make a payment, the CSO replied this can be found next to the BPAY code on the statement, I had to remind him that I have no statement! He then said to just use the account number or card number. On asking why FF Black is not eligible for online statements he had no answer!
Just thought I would send out this FYI in case others were waiting for a statement or a notification that may not come before the due date.

I went into the bank and got my payment date (01 Sept), as I got sick of wasting time w' the phone staff and the website making no progress. This alone makes me want to file the card away. If I get paper statements, that will be a good start at least, and I know that I should be getting one soonish.

Totally lame from start to finish.

Please accept our sincere apologies for the delay in responding to your SecureMail enquiry and the inconvenience this may have caused.

We have contacted the relevant department on your behalf and received a confirmation that you are eligible to receive Bonus Points of $50,000, however due to a technical issue; the bonus point file has allocated 25000 as bonus points in error.

We have identified the issue and a second bonus point file is going to be created and will be processed to allocate the remaining points.

Unfortunately we do not have an estimated time on when the follow up bonus point file will be completed however we are currently working to fix the issue at the earliest.

We apologise for the inconvenience this may have caused.

I've received my bonus for platinum ff card, has anyone received a second set of qantas points yet (ie from the basic card in addition)? Weighing up whether to apply for the basic card before the cut off on 26th

Geeesssh, some of you need to chill out. 1st world problems eh, nothing is ever easy when you get 50,000 pts for free! Mountains aka mole hills maybe!?

Do all I have to do is sign up for this card and pocket a $50,000 bonus? Is that AUD or USD?

:)

Got excited this afternoon when a package came from ANZ. No cards, just a letter of offer and nothing else useful. Never had the cards sent separately before.

The ANZ app is pretty good and is my most convenient way of finding out how much is owing on the card at any time.

The free lounge access in many countries is also a great benefit which I was able to use on my recent trip. Will be sad to lose this card when the year is over - no way am I paying the annual year when it's scheduled to kick back in.

The welcome pack, card and pin arrive in three separate packages.

I've received my cards, one pin but no welcome back or visa pin. Glad I have no intentions of using it!
