On the black card, body corporate fee will qualify for the $2500 required spend?

Yes, definitely. Although there's usually a significant surcharge for this.

Interesting, what does it mean, a portion of it?

It only paid a portion of my minimum spend - my strata fees are less than 2500/q (thank goodness)

That does suck, was meaning to take one of these out a bit later this year... But not paying $400+...

Hopefully they will have special offers from time to time to drop first year fee or they will go back to it at some point...

Same. However another way to look at it is if you had trouble finding $2500 worth of spend, then a small purchase plus $425 is still less in the end.

Agreed. Seems to be a very cost effective way to get 75,000 points. Not sure I could swing the $2500 in that time.

You could pay other people's bills like I did. I got up to $2500 in an hour. Then, I went to Coles and bought some fresh dates and broke a crown on the date stone which almost doubled the payment on the new card. All within less than 24 hours. I always 'forget' my health insurance card so that I get the full points on my AMEX. I think the dentist is on to me.

Anything dental will get the bills racking up yes.

$426/75000 = .0057c/BP
$2500/75000 = .033c/BP

I know it's a steep annual fee but those numbers work for me. Mind you I suck at maths.

How much does a Qantas Club Membership cost through the this card? Its a bit disambiguous in their fine print.

$475 saving in the first year is based upon a joining fee waiver and a discount to the standard one-year individual membership rate.

That would depend on how many years you joined for.

After 4 months of zero use because the ATO became a zero I went to a branch to get PINs I can remember to properly use these cards. The points earn rate is ok so I may keep them. Qudos is still my card for most things but a 1.5 point per dollar card has merit where a retailer takes Amex.

Looking on the Qantas site the 1 year individual membership is $510, so I guess after their $475 discount you are still paying $35
