I went in to a bank on a few days ago to apply, thinking if I rocked up in person with my ID and payslips, it would save an identity check and pay verification down the line.
(As a sad sidenote they said my year since last year was up inside the days of the SC promo).
The lady said almost every CC app she puts through these days is referred, unless for a basic card and a $1k limit. Mine then followed this rule.
Received a voicemail late the next day, and an SMS.
Followed the link in the SMS to upload documents online, then called the number on the line to check if any other info was required (it wasn't).
However this may have taken my application to the front of the queue as an approval SMS came within the hour.
So I'd recommend the online upload and then call the number follow up for documentation to get it processed quickly.

Turns out they're after bank statements too.

I also found it odd that they don't do online ID verification, which most other banks have setup now.

OT, but I got very angry with Westpac circa-2013 when they demanded Mrs Excel show up to a branch to verify ID for a supplementary card.

We were only doing it for the points of course, but even then, they really need to think about this from the customer's POV.

Hi Guys,

Thanks in advance for the replies (My old account is busted and wont let me sign in anymore)

I have a Black card which was approved in December (the one for both the 75k Points + 75 Status Credits)

I have met the Points no issues, but the status credits im a little unsure of. I have been looking far and wide but cannot seem to find any information on when i need to book my return flight with Qantas by.

I have called the helpdesk about 8 times with a range of useless responses "you dont need to fly" just wait and it will come, to "you can use points to buy them" driving me bonkers!

Finding the Archived offers is a nightmare! Does anyone have any ideas?

Thank you again
Martin

I'm currently having issues where the 75 SC haven't posted. Got the card in late Nov. Flew late December. Called ANZ who told me its up to Qantas, they provided all the info. Called the QF WP line. They pointed me to ANZ. Explained ANZ have provided the info. They'll look into it and get back to me in a fortnight.

Stuff like this erodes all goodwill with both parties.

It's best practice to save a PDF copy of the T&C when you apply for a card.

Booking a single return trip on qantas.com using the card e.g. SYD-MEL-SYD would be enough. But you do need to book the flight by the required date to book and fly it by the required date to fly to qualify.

Hit spend criteria in first card month (under new offer with 75K but no SCs) and will report back, once the statement hits, as to when bonus points are earned.

Met the 5k in the first month. Have had 3 statements now and still no bonus 75k. Anyone else also waiting a while.
Previous times, the points have come quite fast.

received my 75SC last month but no bonus points yet

Received this card on 21 Feb, reached the $2500 threshold on 2 March and points landed in my account today. 6.5 weeks from go to woe. Very pleased with the speed of it all.

I would normally cancel immediately but I used the card to pay for a trip next month to BKK and so I will retain until it I get back for the travel insurance.

I got my card 10/1, booked flt late Jan, received 75sc bonus within a couple of days of return flt. I’ve been receiving points on card but no 75k bonus points. I thought I originally read bonus points arrive 3 months after registering & meeting spending $. Who is best to contact in first place? TIA.

Send a letter of complaint to ANZ if bonus points have not been awarded according to the terms of the offer.

Has anyone applied for both the ANZ black “Qantas”/frequent flyer AND black rewards together and got bonus points for both cards? The current terms of exclusion seems to specify types of ANZ card you had in the last 12 months i.e. frequent flyer vs rewards.

Just applied and got the wrong card - black rewards. Wonder if I should just apply for the Qantas one as well.

Yes, the points "currencies" are different have have no effect on each other - in particular exclusion periods.

That's interesting: so 2 points per $, 3xRewards points per KF point, equals $1.50 per KF point. (75k bonus = 25k KF points).
I'm currently waiting out my ANZ QF Black exclusion period, so may go for this in the meantime.

Cancelled my card last week. Tried to offer a half price annual fee for my renewal in 9 months' time.

Interestingly they said, "any points you have earned will still be credited automatically". I was expecting points that hadn't been credited to be cancelled. I wouldn't do this if I was still waiting for the 75k, but food for thought if anyone only has a low points balance and was otherwise going to wait for them to credit before cancelling.

Just got approved for this. Interesting the QP passes are now digital, given other banks are still paper, but that's the way they are going now.

Most have now changed to digital. Westpac, for example, did this recently.

Hi all
When I followed the link at the beginning of the thread I came to a new offer but without the $0 annual fee. It is nowa cash back offer.

The same thing happened with the ANZ rewards card offers except that there is a separate internet offer whereby one can still get 75000 rewards points with $0 annual fee.

Is there an internet only offer for the ANZ FF Black card that has $0 annual fee? If so can someone please post the link?

I saw that St George recently announced a change and oddly enough, got a letter from Westpac today giving notice of the change.

This has just changed since the weekend but there is another thread on this offer, check that. Link still active.
