ANZ Rewards Travel Adventure Card

Does anyone know if you can book a complimentary flight that includes connections? I'm trying to do SYD-PER on specific date and ITA is saying my only options booked into T are SYD-MEL-PER. I'm wondering if that's something that'll work or if I should look at using it on other dates instead.
Any experiences?

Anyone notice that they charge $10+$55 fee for an additional cardholder. During the application, this is not mentioned.
Shouldn't they need to list the fee at the time of applying? Not all cards charge for additional cardholders (eg AMEX). I think it should be mentioned at time of creating the additional cardholder.

This is standard for all ANZ credit cards (or at least the rewards cards) and they will not waive this.

I dont know if its mentioned during the application, I dont think any bank mentions fees there, but its definitely mentioned in the fees schedule.

Nah it's not mentioned during the application at all.
Other banks mention the fees at the application stage I have found. Or if you are unable to add them at the time of application the fee is made aware to you at the time of submitting a different form after the card has been created.

This card is looking quite attractive - especially with the Points Hacks promo of 80000 Velocity points. It also seems the ANZ Rewards is quite separate (for qualification for the bonus) from the ANZ Frequent Flyer Black card (120,000 Qantas points sign on). Given I have served my 12 months sabattical from ANZ, can anyone see any reason that I could not apply for both cards, and get both bonuses?

My question has been answered in the Current Credit Card Promotions thread - the Rewards and Frequent Flyer product lines seem quite separate, so holding/applying for one of them does not preclude the promotions available with the other.

Applied on the 12th and approved on the 14th via the Point hacks promo so 80,000 points should be in play. Is there a way to check this, has anyone called ANZ to confirm?

Also is the 3 month period from when you activate the card or when you make your first spend?

1) You could try calling. I got the email asking for my Velocity number 2 days after making the spend, so they're pretty quick
2) From approval

I've just redeemed my first free flights from this credit card. Very happy with the experience overall.

I redeemed for MEL-DRW flights and there were 9+ T class seats on the dates I wanted, so no issues there. Called ANZ this evening and all booked in 5 minutes. I can see when I log into the VA website that ANZ paid around $450 for my ticket, which is double the annual card fee.

The guy was also able to send my lounge passes on the same call.

I think I'll be keeping this card for a while :)

Yeah it's a nice card. It would be an amazing card if the earn was better and the earn rate didn't drop like a stone after $2000 spend.

I switched to this as my free card with my offset account.. planning work trips 60 days out is hard

Yes it’s T class, and you must book at least 60 days in advance. From my experience you do get both status credits and rewards points on the booking though, it’s a standard travel agent booking.

Does this mean points upgrades (aka Upgrademe Points) are also possible?

I wonder if I'm able to make a normal ticket booking over the phone while redeeming for the free flight so that me and my wife can travel together o_O
If not I'll have to open the Velocity website and be on the ready after the free flight (and seat) has been confirmed

Just redeemed the flights Per-Mel easily over the phone. Got the booking number and as a few people have said on here you can bid to upgrade to business but not with points only cash. I was hoping to use points but can't see this as an option. I'm guessing it's only cash upgrades then?

Just read some T&C about he upgrade. As this flight comes with lounge passes would it be possible to upgrade to business when in the lounge?
Can upgrade to Economy X with points but no option for Business. If this flight is J class isn't full could I use points for this?

Virgin Australia see this flight as a normal one booked by any third party travel agent. Maybe one day they will fix their systems to match the T&C and maybe all this talk about it will encourage them to do so.
