Re: ANZ Rewards Travel Adventure now 60,000 velocity points; 1 domestic return flight

92 days since hitting qualifying spend and still no points as promised. Called ANZ and they said I would be contacted by rewards department within 48 hrs.
So heard back from ANZ today who said because I applied in branch I wouldn't receive points. I told them the card specialist in the branch said I would definitely receive the points and that I showed her the ANZ website with the 60k bonus and T&C's and she said 100% fine. They offered to waive the annual fee but I told them I want the points  Told me I would hear back in 24-48 hours.

Re: ANZ Rewards Travel Adventure now 60,000 velocity points; 1 domestic return flight

I got the 60,000 points but it was drawn out to get them. Was told I applied through the an invalid link and was not targeted so not eligible. I lodged a complaint with the FSO saying false advertising. If ANZ advertises the product and I am not eligible I shouldn't be able to apply (i.e. enter velocity number, etc. to show eligibility), not my fault ANZ's systems are useless. ANZ offered 5,000 pints 'in good faith'. I refused and said the only way to close the matter was to receive the 60,000 points I was entitled to. ANZ responded and gave me the full points.

You should go back to that person in the branch and make your complaint to them. From the ANZ's perspective that would just sound like a story you have made up because you found out about the offer after you applied. I am sure if you look at the T&C it would have said that the only way to get the offer was to apply through the link. This was an unpublished offer from memory so for sure the only way to get it would have been through the link otherwise anyone could have said they should have got it.

Re: ANZ Rewards Travel Adventure now 60,000 velocity points; 1 domestic return flight

I think I know the answer, however I am curious to know if anyone who has redeemed the complimentary flight received points and status credits? Any other tips to help re the flight redemption greatly appreciated. I have had great value from this card so far with my 3 children as supplementary cardholders at no extra cost!

The complaints department has been in contact with the branch manager who has spoken to the staff member who denied ever saying this. So disappointing that the staff member won't own up to it. I told the case manager that I'm going to lodge a dispute with the FSO and she told me to wait and she'll ask to branch manager again. I'm going to go into the branch during the week and speak to the staff member and branch manager. Obviously if I showed her the link on my phone and she said you can't apply in branch, I would've done it online.

I received points (some tiny weird amount- 300? no plat bonus) and no status credits. Flew MEL - HBA.

I flew MEL - CNS with my flight and I got 1,195 points and 10 status credits each way.

Lucky you.

No points or SCs is the official line. However it does book into (T) class fares, so perhaps with the new getaway, elevate, freedom fares something got lost in translation.

I just booked these flights, availability isn't great, but not bad outside peak times. I plan on cancelling this card before taking these flights. Should be fine as the flights are all ticketed and taken care of.

Pointhacks is promoting a 40k offer on this card again, had anyone applied?

thanks!
I would as I think the offering is good, but unfortunately am still sitting out the 12 month wait period.

edit- just had a quick look at the ANZ site, and the black will get you 37,500 points for no annual fee for the first year? Adventure AF of $225 is offset by the free flight I guess...
nice that ANZ has some good offers again, hope they stick around for a few more months so I can apply!

Just cancelled the card today and they refunded me some of the annual fee pro rata.

Re: ANZ Rewards Travel Adventure now 60,000 velocity points; 1 domestic return flight

I applied for the card last month, used it on a NZ trip where I probably saved a fair bit on OS transaction fees, got a very nice email with "Your 40,000 bonus Velocity Points are waiting to be credited to your Velocity Frequent Flyer account."

...but now from reading this it looks like it's going to take the damn points about 3 months to credit? What have people's experiences been? Just getting a bit antsy because I need the points to redeem half of a Sydney to coughet trip in December (outbound trip already booked though...which may have in retrospect been dumb because I just realised I can't book coughet --> Sydney reward seats on the Virgin website...)

If you read back through this thread plenty of people have reported how long it took to get the points. I detailed it somewhere, but I have since forgotten how long. I followed up with the online messaging instead of calling.

I must have been lucky- my points came quickly, I was able to cancel it within 2 months

(Jan / Feb with 60k bonus)

Re: ANZ Rewards Travel Adventure now 60,000 velocity points; 1 domestic return flight

Mine took 4 months from qualifying spend, but they refunded the annual fee for screwing me around so not all bad

Re: ANZ Rewards Travel Adventure now 60,000 velocity points; 1 domestic return flight

I got them the date of my first statement after hitting spend criteria

Can you upgrade the free flight to Business Class using Velocity points?

Also looks like 60,000 points is back but it is Targeted maybe-

ANZ Rewards Travel Adventures Credit Card - 60K Velocity Points + Complimentary Virgin Flights and 2 Lounge Pass $225 Annual Fee

Seems like it's available to anyone who clicks on the link. I had an email from velocity about it too; says need to apply by 31st October.

I'm waiting to apply for the Virgin Money High Flyer card next month..might apply for that one first given the higher bonus points and then see if I want to try my luck with a second application in the same month
