They'll probably end up losing the rest of the games, but by Australian summer they'll have played together a bit and might be ready to shine...

Somehow I don't see them taking that drastic action though.
Drastic action is probably the right way to go although I do not think they will be ready by the Australian summer.

Just find someone that does not throw their wicket away. The bowlers are doing an OK job.

Warner needs a rest.

Did anyone see the funny side of Ed Cowan named captain for the tour match? I am not convinced he has a test future let alone named captain.

Has anyone noticed how whitebread the England team is these days? They don't have a single player of West Indian/subcontinental background in the side. They do have three South Africans of course but a few years ago there were plenty of such players like Bopara, Panesar (who played in India) then going back to Nasser Hussain, Mark Ramprakash, Devon Malcolm etc.
The Aussie side is more ethnically diverse these days, by virtue of Usman Khawaja...

Ravi Bopara is in the wings...might even get called up if Pieterson is out of the third test.

For those wanting to buy tickets for the 2015 World Cup games in Aus and NZ you can register with the Australian Cricket Family to receive offers before the general public .

I think one of the huge failings of Australian Cricket is not getting more Non Anglo-Celts involved in the sport. From my own experience most non anglo-celts in Australia actually love their cricket and love watching Australia play well.

Fawad Ahmed is a Pakistan born player who is eligible after seeking assylum in Aus , I am sure with the diversity of our population that we will see players of different backgrounds in the near future.

Arrived in Manchester this morning , raining like a cough. Weather bureau has it fine for the first day of third Test tomorrow. This is my first Ashes Test match so here's hoping !! Flew in from BHD to MAN on Flybe. First time on Flybe and it was only about 40 mins flying time. Seemed to be a smoother enough process. Go the Aussies time to fight back !!

No our second run to England is after the game has been played. We are doing some touring with friends and plan to catch up with Myrna and Flashback again. The cricket at Lords was like a "Who's Who" of cricket and you can take an esky into the ground with bubbly , wine and food. Veuve seemed to be the most popular champagne.

Good start from Australia.

At least be competitive this time and a draw is a good result.
