Ashes Cricket in England 2013

I saw the groundstaff scraping the pitch (bowlers footfall area) last night just before I went to bed - I've never seen it happen before and was bemused.

The problem is that we need to win this Test - so need to dismiss England twice, which on this pitch, looks unlikely unless our spinners really use those footholes
The pitch may not be the biggest obstetrical when it comes to getting them out

Well it's rumbling thunder and rain down in old London town!

They need this:

A helicopter tries to dry the pitch at a waterlogged Nehru Stadium, India v England, Guwahati, April 8, 2006

Lucky that's not an Irish helicopter!

*boom tish*

I'll be here all week, try the VA hotdogs!

You are not seriously contemplating an Ashes series victory are you?

It looks like Australia cannot lose from this position but how much time will they leave themselves to get England twice on a flat pitch? And is it enough? I think it would be difficult to get England out twice and a draw would be a great result.

Solid start from Australia on day 2. Smith unlucky. No idea what Warner trying to achieve.

5/380

Just trying to get cut from the squad with the punch, the review then the.........

I can't fathom why he wasted a review on his dismissal.. He clearly hit it.

But at about the same time, his bat hit the inside of his front pad, hard enough that he probably didn't know he'd hit it.

Nice to see Clarke get 150 and now 5/400. Clarke on 173 - will he make the double ton??

I don't know. I know his bat hit the pad but still looks like a waste.

Hopefully it is not going to matter as the Aussies are looking to score quickly and put England into bat.

Broad gets a century :D

0/100

Whilst Clarke moves to 185. Go you good thing.

Bottle of red gone down well *hic*... Listening to "I don't care, I love it" in the ads and thinking yes, that's what I am thinking about drinking a whole bottle in 3 hours. Now to finish off with some water before bed

Bugger!!! Clarke out on the hoodoo number 187 - chopped onto the stumps. 6/427

Memorable for Broad - his 200th Test wicket (15th English bowler to achieve the milestone)

Time for Haddin to open the shoulders and make sure we get at least 450 - just shy of 500 would work and get them in for 30+ overs
