ATO (tax office) payments by credit card

"A Melbourne woman accused of laundering criminal proceeds is served with a $2.6 million tax bill."

Some people have all the luck.....CC anyone?

With the 1.45% surcharge on Amex for ATO payments, that's $37,700
But I'd imagine 3.9m points would go some way towards a few Suite redemptions on SQ

In the bad old days before competition crunched air fares you could spend that sort of money to fly first class for two to London or New York out of Australia Nizar.
It would be safer to pay a non criminals taxes for points I would think! And of course that makes the opportunity larger provided you have a credit card that has points earning uncapped and a big credit limit.
The idea of Suites rides on SQ as your reward is a very good one.

ANZ Frequent Flyer Platinum AMEX as far as I know still credits 1.5 points per $ for ATO payments.
Also having a promotion for 40k bonus points at the moment.

40000 Qantas Frequent Flyer Points

Just jumped on this one myself - negative nancy ole me is still convinced the opportunities for ATO points earn are going to keep drying up, so I decided I was happy to pay the increased cost per point (compared to WOW EDR) in exchange for earning points faster. As an aside, very easy application / approval process (given I have somewhat complex / hard to fully "prove" income), as compared to the ridiculous hoops Westpac made me jump through to get an Altitude Black (or, more specifically, Platinum Plus back then).

I know Altitude Black from Westpac are paying points on ATO.
Now I have to get a Westpac Earth Black seeing it is curtains for Amex Ultimate on July21 for ATO.

It is a bit of a bad look going $295 fee then a whole slew of ATO and nothing else on that Altitude Black. The points counter for this card works well at Westpac so you are not guessing how you are going like with Citibank where it's their guess at the points you have earned.

Only about 7 days to consider a prepayment on your next BAS JohnM if you want to give Amex Ultimate a treat!

We are in London and the cricket and AFF are two favourites today.
The weather here is very Brisbane with warmth and humidity.
Bundy Bear I think I have shocked Citibank,Amex Ultimate and shortly Westpac.
i think I may be ok for points for about 5 years based on this thread as I am back warehousing points.

What do you think of the Bank West Debit card, the one that has points as a debit card. I have an ANZ card which is going to cost me $144 to renew and my days of earning lots of credit card points are coming to an end, unless I can talk the boss around to paying the BAS via visa.

Cove this must be your most favorite thread on AFF.

Sure earned me lots of miles - just a shame I came to it so late - think of all those miles that were left behind...

You probably realize now that I am slightly warped !
If it is possible to have too many FF points then this may be a master list of the folks who have fallen victim to this thread.
We could blame the ATO of course.
