ATO (tax office) payments by credit card

I did that last week.

They said I was a good customer and asked what they'd have to do to keep me.
I said fee free for life and 100k QF points. They said sorry they couldn't help me. Worth a shot though lol if you never try you never know

I just put through my last $17k ATO yesterday.

I had the conversation, they've given me fee free for the year but I told them I still want to close the account. They said now it is free I should wait for the new features that are of no interest to me (travel and purchase insurance). I'm paying off the remaining balance then will advise them where they can stick their now fairly useless card once the payment clears.

Now moving to Citi Signature (fee free for life) for non-ATO spend, and considering moving from Earth Black to ANZ Black and sending everything to AsiaMiles.

Any reason you'd choose AsiaMiles. I use my points for Aus-Europe J mainly. Are their redemptions as good as SQ?

From my (limited) experience of some 10s redemptions I'd have to say it is a (relative) YES.

As usual, early birds get the worms!

I was able to snag a CDG SYD J seat within 5 days of departure when the need came up. Happy camper !

I prefer the CX product and transiting HKG in J/F to Europe, you can also burn on QF/BA/AA at far less that QF charge for the pleasure, while retaining my OW WP benefits along the way.

SQ would also be an option but it's annoying to get to HK on SQ.

It seems the first part is not connected to the second part ?

'Burn' = redemptions

Redemptions = no SCs

Is there something I had missed ?

Woolies EDRCC paid points on ATO this month but that rate is halving shortly.

Thanks for confirming. I just paid my BAS with it, hopefully I'll see full points shortly.

I did however get the email saying 'Effective from my May Statement issue date, I will earn 0.5points per $1 spent after $2500" blah blah blah

Sigh. Might be time for another card.

Can anyone confirm the HSBC Platinum Qantas card pays full points for ATO payments?

Why yes indeed! Every quarter my fingers are mysteriously afflicted with some type of dyslexia as I accidentally add an extra digit to each ATO payment with my HSBC Visa :o Might need to see my Doc sometime...

thanks for confirming. Looks like it is the way to go for me, seems like the only VISA/MC that pays 1:1 QFF points now. Now I regret signing up for the Woolies card...

Anyone paid an ATO bill with NAB Qantas Rewards Premium Amex recently. I just paid a $10k bill on the understanding that I would get 1.5 pts per dollar. A bit worried after reading some recent posts on this thread. Have another $10k due in a week's time and don;t want to pay an Amex fee for no points earn.

Has anyone tried paying with Bankweat QF World?

I used the BankWest Platinum around September to get to the 200k cap of points for about $200k of ATO. It was a tad less because we used it elsewhere as well.

Could you let us know how you go?

I made a PAYG withholding payment yesterday with NAB premium but my statement cycle doesn't come around again till 16th March. Anyone who has a statement cycle ending in the next week would certainly help out a lot of members it seems, if they can confirm whether points are posting.
