ATO (tax office) payments by credit card

I don't so am hoping this avenue will remain open to me especially now changes will affect non ATO spend too. Will make the most of it while it lasts.

Absolutely. And a good forex system is also necessary with some risk as always.

Yes Bill Giffen at Bell FX Sydney can help get you started on foreign exchange if you get serious with using "foreign" credit cards. I tend to switch pretty quickly to avoid major currency movements. Often times I have ended up at least square and currently I have currency at .7705. I have qualified for more than 50,000 Kris Miles by spending more than $4000 US.
You wouldn't want to be 2 cents out on a chunk of ATO on top of the 0.54% fee for processing.

Thanks Cove, how do I get in touch with Bill? wouldn't mind seeing what he has to offer. But annual amount may not be what you are putting through them.

I think you can get Bill on an 800 line at Bell FX seeing you are in Brisbane. Bill is friendly and is a traveler too seeing he has family in New York.

Anyone tried the coles mastercards and ato? Couldnt find anything in t&C excluding it, although not sure if its worth it.

There is a reference to this up tread of a few weeks ago+. Maybe search feature in the thread, will give you the exchange rate.

The link provided doesn't work. I haven't been able to work out what the new earn rates are. The site does show changes to business cards earn rate.

does it mean no points will be earned for ato payments from may 1st using stg signature cards?

No, its referring to bonus partners that I didn't know existed. You could earn 3ppd for Crown hotels and about 10 other companies.

Im sure the ato enhancement will be coming though.

Will give it a go thanks

We arrived home from the US yesterday morning and sure enough there were more tax bills for payment later on in April. Kris Miles, Qantas, AA or Velocity?...that is the question.

Lol, given what you posted you ate in the SQ thread, surely the answer is Krisflyer! :p

Kris Flyer Miles have a use by date that runs to almost 4 years. I almost lost some but SQ were really nice and helped us.
I now have some warehoused points in 3 locations so those Kris Miles don't expire.
I am still thinking about which CCs to use in April.

I used World times two and Westpac Kris Amex times two plus a successful tester on Chase Sapphire. I now have a chunk of warehoused Kris Flyer Miles as ATO helped to get me their 50,000 sign on in the US.
We are looking forward to an SQ Suites run to London for those usual onboard treats.

Reports of it working on another site but the coles mc t&cs say no Business spends.

Also worth nothing that paying your BAS is a business expense, which the Coles card states aren’t allowed to points earn on the card. Just saying. Worth being aware of, everyone can make their own decisions on how to use their cards – we just aim to inform!

I paid my quarterly BAS on Coles MC on October 25 and got all my points, so I have no idea why this amazing card is not on the list.
