ATO (tax office) payments by credit card

Katie somehow we ended up with 2 toasters in London but none from frequent flyer points fortunately.
I think you can go one way first class on Emirates to St Petersburg or Moscow if you want to try their Vodka.

Looking at what I can redeem on the BankWest MoreRewards site, I might be able to get a $500 Webjet voucher with my points.
I don't think I get the points into Skywards or QFF or any FF scheme. Oh well.

We have our Bankwest points go directly to our Qantas FF accounts and with World still being great value I put some more ATO their way. I did use both of our Westpac Kris Amex cards too.

I had a lovely experience with a young lass in local newsagent/post office that not only gave me 20 cents to scratch the pin area on $88 Chinese new year gift cards but had no issues putting thru multiple and stapling receipts to ATO invoice......

Is the Westpac Krisflyer Platinum Amex only still good to pay the ATO up until 30th June this year?

Hi Kohdeb,
Where did you hear this? I also have these cards and have received no notification from Westpac.
Cheers,
Mitch

I am planning to prepay various Government charges including ATO and I think we will be given at least one months notice of any changes. I did that previously when World was moving from 1.0 point per dollar to 0.66 points per dollar and never regretted doing that.
Citi are pulling the plug on non ATO Government charges in the middle of June and that is a big hit for us.

I have not heard anything and was just asking you guys the question as the experts.
Glad to hear as far as your aware no changes have been announced yet, however we would have to assume it will be getting devalued at some stage don't we?

Don't know. The fact that they have not been accepting new applications for
this card for well over a year now means that they aren't going to cop all the ATO payers disillusioned with the enhancements from every other card so they may just let it go on and let natural attrition take its course.

Hoping so anyway.

Some Westpac changes announced today: no more points on ATO payments on Earth and Altitude cards (only the AMEX earns points anyway currently and at half the usual earn rate), but from July 1 will be no points at all. Doesn't appear to be any changes for the KrisFlyer cards, however!

It was great whilst it lasted!

By end of June 2017 will have enough Altitude points for 2 return trips in J to Europe on SQ.

Will need to research alternative strategies. Have heard of buying AAdvantage and Avianca Life Miles but do not know much about it.

Maybe the commiseration drinks suggested by Cove could have someone tell us about alternative strategies?

If you can afford it , have an appropriate credit card and a tax bill due in July or a bit later.....think prepaying in late June.

Think I'll just stick to the old Altitude Black MC/Amex, tried and tested, ok points earn isn't as good as it was, but at least it still works

If that's what you're using, def. check out rewardpay (see top of page). I haven't used them yet but plan to with my Altitude Black Amex. Double the miles for less than double the cost. No brainer really.

ChrisFlyer has just posted that Altitude Black Amex is dead from July 1. Bloody hell I'm glad I'm selling the practice on July 1 so I'll prepay the last BAS in the last week June to get what I can.
