ATO (tax office) payments by credit card

Just received this from DP:

Sorry for the inconvenience. We have had to suspend your DiviPay account after our payments processor flagged your account as fraudulent. Our payments processor blocked your account after a large number of cards have been used to fund your DiviPay account. In order for them to unblock your account they are asking us to provide additional evidence that you are the true owner of these cards. They require us to send them a scanned copy of your driver’s license. I understand from conversation with other customers that you may have purchased a large number of gift cards and are aggregating them to manage your payments, whilst DiviPay understands this use case our payments processor has requested further evidence from us. Please note if you are unable to provide further evidence we will release the held funds on your DiviPay account back to their original funding source.

Appreciate your cooperation.

Regards,
Daniel

I presume this is because you are loading ÷pay with many cards? I guess loading from a few high earning cards wouldn’t cause a problem?

Agreed, I think it's because of having to keep changing the source of your funds

That and that they have no way of knowing who has created the account.

My heart sank when I created an account as the paucity of any significant ID verification (mobile and email address do not count as both are easily created by scammers) made me think that they would be a vehicle for scammers to use and so hardly a surprise that they (or as it has turned out whichever card supplier is facilitating them) would crack down on multiple card use and moreso for small transactions.

I must have missed something. Is it not possible to use Visa One to pay ATO and other bills?

Also not easy to find Visa One anywhere without pre-ordering.

Yes, the usual method of pre paid payment is no longer working on their gateway. At this stage we are not sure if it's a glitch or something else.

The cards still work on other websites

For Ato, stopped working last week.
For other bills, yes if <$100 or biller allows split payment
I find some WW have plenty, others rarely

V1 only currently works fine everywhere else except the man/canberra. Seemed the man/canberra blocked it. Obfuscating V1 via loading virtually seemed to be grinding to a halt too. Alas, I only paid $297 so far to the man. :(

Not sure if loading up an IG and buy and sell ETF to get your money back - and to get points - become the next craze.

You cannot use AMEX anymore on IG via paypal, so this has become useless apart from using it to meet minimum spend on other CC's

I would guess the something else as in deliberately blocked as the automating of payments and more people using this channel probably made the man nervous about so may small payments from anonymous cards being paid to them.

I was hoping to pay council rates this week but can't get a hold of Visa One cards. This was good a few years ago but way too many people using it has slowly killed it.

Same with Visa gift cards at Harvey Norman and vPay etc.

Divipay would be perfect for rates, wouldn't it?? (I've only just in the past week been getting familiar with divipay so no expert)

If we must openly discuss loopholes can we at least keep them on-topic

Divipay sounds interesting but a lot of work? I'm now stuck with $1,200 of online Wish cards.
