Snow season. Party time. How on earth is that going to work?
Snow bunnies!
And outside activities havent been shown to be the risk behaviours. And the Aspen resort bunnies took Covid around the world.Thredbo and other NSW/Vic resorts are operating at 50 per cent capacity in admissions, and apparently just two per chairlift. However you're probably rightly concerned about apres ski activities. Of all human endeavours, one might struggle to think of any that exceeded this in terms of close contact. Snow bunnies!
One can't imagine too many in the hospitality sector being happy with the Victorian spike in cases, not that it's led thus far to any deaths.

It is interesting that a number of my friends who were big huggers are not doing any physical contact (which is my preference) but others just don't seem to get it and look at me like I'm weird because I don't want to hug
Yes but would prefer the spread being as the result of normal daily life resuming and not because people just go out and party.Well, its going to spread that's whats going to happen. Like we have been preparing for.
Suppression, not elimination right?
Cases - but not enough to drown our hospitals and ventilator capacity right?
Yep, It feels so weird to walk into a room or run into a really close friend or relative and stand 1.5m away and nod or pretend to elbow bump. Feels uncomfortable and when I go to say good bye I feel unsatisfied/unsettled, like somethings wrong, did I forget my phone or something. Bloody virus

I suspect that those residents were too frail to withstand the rigors of artificial ventilation (which until very recently was the only intervention that changes outcome for CoViD either therapeutically or supportively).i have just read the harrowing details of Newmarch "disaster" and I just don't understand.
We shut Australia down to protect the most vulnerable from Covid, and quite clearly the Aged are smack in that group, amongst others. I also know from personal experience that many residents have a DNR on entry. I am not sure I would actually regard a pandemic as being the reason why a DNR is relevant.
But why the hell were residents who wanted to seek external treatment not provided with it when they and their relatives wanted to get help? I think only one resident was placed in hospital but it was too late.
If we were not prepared to give this group of people the treatment they desperately needed then well, what is the point of it all? There was certainly an abundance of advanced facilities available for them.
Yes, that is likely a medical consideration but it seems that no one received any additional medical support. Not everyone in residential care is that frail. And I wonder who gave them the assessment that they were too frail? If it was kept in house then I don't think that's enough. It all seems very secretive and those people never stood a chance.I suspect that those residents were too frail to withstand the rigors of artificial ventilation (which until very recently was the only intervention that changes outcome for CoViD either therapeutically or supportively).

But as I said earlier, approval for the marches gave consent for those less concerned to throw away the Covid handbook.Clearly the majority of the populace were/are diligent with covid precautions.
There will always be the wgaf element in society, here in au it's not large and it should receive the treatment it invites.
Compulsory tracking , heavy fines and non salubrious quarantine options.
I agree they should have had medical (ideally specialist even if remotely) assessment. Our contingency plans would have done so for our DistrictYes, that is likely a medical consideration but it seems that no one received any additional medical support.
