I doubt a medicare record would show the results of rapid tests...which is what he was supposed to get daily...there is presumably no pathology element.
But this time he had a swab so I guess all that will be investigated. Even though rapid tests are deployed i thought there was also the need for a regular one as well. Time will tell.

Quite understandable with the level of guilt and public/legal pressure to deflect the blame - I'd be listening to the experts (ie NSW Health). How exactly does he know he caught it from a cafe?

This was the article. Quite interesting. Sounds like he has had some legal advice and building a case?

Normal Current Affair nonsense. “He feels he caught it out and around,” Ms Colman told Ms Grimshaw.

I have my money on the scientific evidence.

The rapid tests are the shift tests but you need to get a PCR test once a week, sounds like his legal defense using media to cast doubt.

Belle Cafe was the transmission point where a 70yo women was infected, other people who were there at the same time have been tested and are in isolation so if someone else infected him there where is that person? Hopefully CCTV footage.

Isn't that more a function of young adults not being vaccinated yet? Same as what is happening in UK. Too early in the roll out for any majority of young people to be fully vaccinated.

old article below but it’s less about age groups and more about hesitant sections of the population such as Israeli-Arabs and ultra orthodox haredim.

One might also consider that occupying and settling the West Bank and not vaccinating the Palestinians might represent a tiny chink in the armour of being the most vaccinated population in the world.

no one is truly vaccinated till we’re all vaccinated.

The impression I got was that because (he said) he was wearing a mask and gloves that he thought he couldn't have been infected on the job.

The whole interview of the interviewer was particularly lame though. I think even Tracy Grimshaw was a bit annoyed by some of her colleague's responses.

The world will want to know his secret of 100% effective masks and gloves! And the ability to pinpoint infection down to a strict 3 day period.

Another two cases for QLD, linked already thankfully and in iso.

Queensland records two new locally acquired COVID-19 cases linked to Portuguese restaurant

Queensland has recorded two new cases of community transmission of COVID-19 linked to a cluster stemming from a leak from hotel quarantine last weekend.

Messsssy....

Lots of dodgy behaviour in this outbreak and my gut is it’s all the cases misbehaving this time, not NSW Health stuff ups.

- Driver sounds dodgy period on many levels
- I reckon the super spreader party lied to the NSW contact tracers which allowed the outbreak to spread to Melbourne
- The Mascot cafe didn’t have any contact tracing in place (maybe more complacency than dodgy...)

Australian study shows that Long Covid is not as bad as some overseas jurisdictions claim.

From ABC Blog:

'Long COVID' lingers for some in NSW — but not as many as other studies suggest

A new study by NSW Health and the University of NSW shows five percent of people diagnosed with COVID-19 in the state's first wave' reported long-term symptoms.

The research found 1 in 20 people with COVID-19 between January and May were still experiencing symptoms three months later.

Head author Bette Liu says the study tracked almost everyone who was diagnosed in the state's first wave.

She says it found less people reported long-term symptoms compared with overseas studies.

"The percentage of people who hadn't recovered or had prolonged symptoms were less than what international studies have reported," Dr Liu said.

Nothing new overnight for Vic thankfully - just the one local case already known about - the dry cleaners work colleague. Hundreds of customers from the dry cleaner have/now being tested.... HOPEFULLY the Sydney super spreader party goer is not a super spreader themselves.....!

Some would take the view that the vast majority are complying and that this is the result of a tricky more transmissible variant.

If this is true (haven't seen it mentioned) that is criminal, as check in capability has been mandated since this time last year, and the official Service NSW QR and app for 6 months. I expect to see charges if this is indeed the case.

I find it funny that the NSW haters on this thread are now conceding possible dishonest behavior from limo try and party goers, but when I raised the same points previously it was dismissed.

Maybe, it just seems a little weird the Sydney super spreading party host 'forgot' about their interstate attendee.... Personally not buying it. But whatever, what is done is done.

Sort of breaking news, PM suggests WA and Qld sites for Commonwealth built, State operated quarantine locations. Victoria has Mickleham confirmed
