I put that in the dodgy category in June 2021. No excuse for complacency any more for such venues.
Depending on whether its the cafe not signing up to the Service NSW system or whether it was the lack of patrons signing in. But the way its noted/written, it does sound like the dodgy cafe.

Oh he was furious, had the popcorn out over morning tea :)

"I want to address the proposal received late last night from the Prime Minister for a quarantine facility in Pinkenba.

"Can I underline we certainly welcome the Commonwealth is finally giving consideration to supporting a Queensland quarantine facility.

"Of course it needs a lot more work.

"This was a 1.5 page letter received by us late last night, just after it was provided to the Courier Mail.

"The only detail in the letter is an address.

"And I just note that when Queensland provided a 15-page early proposal we were told that was far too little detail.

It will be interesting how many will follow the suggestion.

More and more recommended restrictions for Sydney........its coming to a case of will they or won't they bite the bullet with orders.

I recall previously reporting of a NSW cabinet discussion suggesting 250 was acceptable. I think since that time the zero States won the battle of National Cabinet, Australia has a more transmissible variant circulating and the NSW Premier is stating her current feeling of being at medium to high risk.

(Straps in for the possibility that the cluster could get to a total of 50 today)

COVID-19 detected in Bourke sewage plant, 750 km from Sydney

NSW Health has issued am urgent warning after trace amounts of COVID-19 were found in the sewage treatment system in far western NSW.

The program found the virus at the Bourke sewage plant on Tuesday, which serves about 2,000 people.

For residents of the area, NSW Health is asking for continued vigilance, to get tested if any cold-like symptoms appear and self-isolate.

The area does not currently have the capacity for high-volume testing, which is now being arranged.

The Baulkham Hills man has been confirmed as a false positive. Explains why no discussion on this guy in past few days.

Gladys said 14. Perhaps 3 are HQ.

Cluster is now at 65......

NSW has recorded 22 new locally acquired COVID-19 infections since the state government gave its most recent update yesterday.

There are now 65 cases linked to the Bondi cluster.

NSW Premier Gladys Bereijklian said contact tracers had overnight been able to link all but one infection to a known case or cluster.

The case of nine-year-old child who attended St Charles' Catholic Primary School in Waverley remains under investigation.

Hard lockdown has now been put in place:

---------------------

BREAKING: Stay-at-home lockdown for Woolhara, Waverley, Randwick and the City of Sydney for 7 days

Ms Berejiklian said there were only five reasons for people who live or work in Woolhara, Waverley, Randwick and the City of Sydney to leave home as a lockdown is put in place.

This rule will be in place for a week.

"If you live or work in those Local Government Areas, you now need to stay at home unless absolutely necessary," she said.

NSW extends restrictions for all other LGA's by one week as case numbers explode

Before Ms Berejiklian announced the lockdown for those four local government areas, she said the COVID restrictions put in place prior to this would be extended by another week.

"All the existing settings we have in place, every single setting we have in place will now be extended until Friday midnight next week.

"So previously, all the existing settings were supposed to finish on Wednesday, but now, all the existing settings will finish at midnight Friday next week.

Kerry Chant just said it is 17 cases, 14 are the linked cases, 3 are unlinked. That's where Gladys made the mistake.

So concerned about gyms and exposures that took place this week. But even in the context of 'scarily fleeting transmission' kept em open with no mask requirement outside of group classes. Oh well.

I read that gyms were purposefully trying to find loopholes under severe exertion

The reasons to leave home need to be expanded to include - seeking medical treatment, getting tested and getting vaccinated.
