numbers not going in right direction.......so why not change something.

They say evaluating every hour, well hmm how about moving towards full lockdown, this lockdown-lite not cutting it seems.

Allow shops to stay open I guess does keep employees working, but 3 customers in a day (as mentioned in the linked article) barely seems worthwhile from an economic productivity point of view. Soft lockdowns and hard lockdowns both have an economic impact. If soft = longer, then perhaps hard lockdowns are better economically and healthwise.

Many Melbourne testing sites over capacity and 3-hour waits - so good to see so many people getting tested, high testing numbers will give us the confidence we're finding cases, and people are doing the right thing to get us out of lockdown asap ❤️

Yep, Kerry looked more than a little annoyed that people are still moving about. Surely enough is enough Gladys, time to lock down properly
I haven't looked but how many of the exposure sites are places that would be open according to the Vic essential workers list. I do know many are pharmacists, doctors, construction sites, hospitals and food supermarkets.

Ohhh dear…..

Apple / tree / doesn’t fall far…?

NSW press conference tomorrow will be one not to miss… 🍿

BREAKING: NSW Deputy Premier John Barilaro's daughter fined for breaking COVID rules

NSW Deputy Premier John Barilaro's daughter has been fined for breaching the state's COVID-19 public health orders.

Police sources allege Domenica Barilaro travelled from Queanbeyan, near the ACT border, to Sydney, and then to Canberra, before returning home last Friday.

The 20-year-old was given a $1,000 fine.

More to come.

Blind Freddy could see that coming thanks dodgy Sydney removalists…!
That covers the interstate idiots but unfortunately not the local ones. I visited a friend in a Melbourne apartment building yesterday. They buzzed me into the car park and I parked close to the lifts. As I was putting on my face mask and gathering my things I saw 3 removalists walk toward and away from the lifts not wearing face masks. I told my friend and they informed the building concierge who discovered they were setting up a display apartment to be sold. The concierge has contacted the estate agents involved.

One of the journo's asked about this in today's press conference. Deptuty Commissioner Worboys acknolwedged it had occurred.

Exactly, being in community doesn't mean someone has been travelling all over the city going to hundred of places. It could mean they went to the supermarket once.

Plus the issues of numpties going to GPs and Chemist with symptoms has been called out for days, they will never close those venues though.

You need the detail behind the story to know the real risk.

Was over an hour first thing at the one I went to today

I haven't had a covid test for a couple months now... have they improved the time it takes to conduct the test? Or is it still 20-30 minutes per person by the time you do all the mucking around?

I had one at St Vincent’s in Melbourne on Saturday and was in and out in 5 minutes

I went to the drive through at Albert Park a month ago and it was 5 mins tops...and most of that I wasn't really sure what the hold up was as there was just me and one car in front, nobody waiting behind me. (I'm sure its quite different today).

I did the online preregistration so all you really need to do is hand over the reference number you get in an SMS from that. No need to collect any further details.

Not sure about other states but last test I had they gave me a QR code sheet I just show them each test and all my personal and Medicare details are scanned and captured immediately.

That's good to hear! I reported last year that with manual check-in it was taking three different people and 30 minutes just to register each person and get them to their test. A QR code much better. I wonder if those without QR codes are getting quicker too?

Maybe I was lucky the last time but I was in and out in 20 minutes even with all the checking. First time it seemed like a much more prolonged constant checking thing. That was in November. Most recently it was in mid May. I haven't used the QR check in yet. 🤞

NSW based and my local drive through clinic was formerly managed by NSW health. It was a QR code check in and all very seamless.
Went this morning for a test and it is now run by Laverty - they are using paper pathology forms you handwrite and you also label the tube yourself. Seems like a step backwards on a number of fronts.

Go here first: https://testtracker.covid19.dhhs.vic.gov.au/citizen-prefill

I would imagine now that the queues will be long, there will be notification to fill this out while you wait.
