Well I know comparison to overseas jurisdictions is problematic, but there are some countries with high vaccination rates and mask wearing and social distancing. - not sure whether they have an on/off system. A poster on one of these threads was saying Italy used a 0.3 hospitalisation/ICU factor (not sure the actual calculation) for an on/off system - in comparison Sydney is 0.9 at the moment.We have enough difficulty enforcing mask wearing now with active outbreaks and low vaccination. This isn't sustainable long term and people will just give up once vaccinations rise.
More importantly, people will stop investing in Australia whilst this chaos continues and seek to migrate. No government can afford that.
