It's not those figures that frighten me it's long covid and what that will mean for our health system. Only time will tell what long covid looks like.

My friends daughter has been suffering from post-viral issues for over 20years, and is not expected to ever reach a full recovery. So long covid will be yet another to have this sort of impact.

Not all - as an example, end of July out of 54 in NSW ICU - 10 were under 30 (ie teens or 20s).

Dan begging people to come forward for vaccination, over 50k Pfizer appointments remain un booked for the next week. You'd think demand would be up. He lead again with NSW bashing referencing spread to NZ, neglecting that is a failure of NZ border controls since Sydneysiders cant just wander into NZ. Then went onto begging for people to follow the rules, sounds very familiar. Maybe he is starting to realise its not the rule settings but numpties wilfully ignoring them, time to stop lecturing other states and focus on your own state.

Over to NSW the 3 deaths all in their 90s, 2 not vaccinated at all and the other fully vaxed, nowever all with significant other health issues. None of the people in ICU are fully vaxed. All the condolences are not helpful, all deaths are sad but deaths of 90+s with serious underlying conditions happen every day, 90 is above average life span and all have been eligible for vaccination since late March (earlier if in aged care).

Gladys very calm and collected. Case numbers will soon be irrelevant, vaccination is what matters.

States with zero covid will get cases as soon as they open their borders.

Specifically said covid zero is an impossible task.

The outbreak started when a nurse worked two shifts at the aged care facility while not knowing they were infectious.

The worker was not vaccinated.

Six people living at the facility have tested positive to COVID-19 and four were not vaccinated.

Central station will allow people to leave if they can show they work in a critical role in the area. Hospital staff for St Vincents or Prince of Wales coming in from North, West and South need to be able to get on connecting busses or light rail. Workers coming from north or south need to be able to walk or bus down to RPA.

Because the Feds were slow to mandate vaccination for that cohort and then gave them months to do so (not due to 17 Sept) despite them having priority access to jabs since Feb.

Notice when the state mandated jabs for childcare this week they gave then 2 weeks to comply for first jab, commonwealth aged care were given 4 months, which shows no urgency.

825 new cases and only 3 deaths. The case numbers are irrelevant now, as we are not seeing an upwards trend in deaths, which is good news and shows vaccines are our way to living with Covid.
