Again, some on this thread claim case numbers don't matter and go to the extent of claiming hospitalisation, ICU and deaths don't matter because they were not vaccinated..... so go fish....

Time to split those numbers into to vaccinated vs unvaccinated. Deaths and hospitalisations in the unvaccinated (especially anyone over 50 who has had 6 months to do so) should not be used as a metric to restrict the vaccinated.

No one in ICU is fully vaccinated.

Because I can tell you that there are definitely people in hospital who aren’t eligible for vaccination.

May 3rd was the 2a start date

May 1st in NSW for over 50s, I never mentioned whole of 2b nor anywhere outside of NSW. I replied to a posts of NSW numbers and posted exerpts from NSW Surveillance report.

Of course with the recommended AZ 12 weeks that leaves 2b only three weeks to have been FULLY vaccinated.

However 50s were able to switch to Pfizer in June as a large proprotion did, meaning possible to be fully vaxed within 3 weeks. I have many friends and collegaue in their 50s who did this and were fully vaxxed before end of July.

Any over 50s who decided to stick with AZ in NSW has been able to bring forward their 2nd AZ dose, recommendation is now 8 weeks (some have done as short as 4 or 6 weeks).

The bulk of deaths in this outbreak have been in elderly in 1A (eligible since Feb) and 1B (Eligible since March) - it is important to recognise that and stop making excuses.

Some people don't use the internet. This might be the only way they get news, especially if locked at home alone.

Yes.

Noting that only 2 children (12-17) in ICU and we dont know if they have comorbdities or are indigneous which would have also made them eligible for Vaccination.

Too many parents have been sending their kids to day care and school who are not essential workers, one kid in my sisters class has a stay at home mum who just wanted a break, unfortunately schools arent allowed to refuse to take the kids.

The spread in child care has seen it mandated for child care workwers to get their first jab by end of this month (pity the feds didnt mandate the same for aged care and hopsitalk workers much earlier they still have ober 3 weeks, depsite beinging eligible since March, some from Feb).

Don’t see any state level breakdowns of the comparisons on vaccination rates in there.

Remember this is about *rate* of vaccination.

I am well into the over 50s group and am a good example of not being eligible for vaccination.

I was not allowed to have the vaccine for quite a long time and only had the AZ in early July and slotted for the second at the end of September. Ultimately I was offered Moderna when available, Pfizer or AZ. For my circumstance AZ holds the least risk.

They have been doing their own research, specifically looking at Canada with provinces of similar populations. I don’t think they need to use Doherty for that.

I wouldn't portray that as a negative thing. People are really, really struggling at the moment and it's this unseen side of rules and restrictions that are really having a significant impact on individuals and families.

This is not correct. My sister who lives in Albury only had her first AZ in early July as there were not supplies available prior to that.

To suggest that everyone 50+ who wanted to be fully vaccinated by now could be is plainly incorrect.

However, I would say that the vast majority 50+ in NSW who wanted to be vaccinated could almost certainly have had a first dose by now.

No idea, they spoke of it, they didn't talk specifics.

But remember if we are 70% double jabbed, we are likely to be 85%+ single jab as well - and that would really constrain hospitalisation. Adding some relief for vaccinated people will probably have a net decrease in impact due to the enticement to keep vaccinating.

What about the teachers who have to go into school to supervise those kids who dont need to be there putting their health at risk? Those teachers have families too.

Schools are struggling to get teachers to come in the leadership team have to try and guess each day how many will show up, teachers have to wear masks for 9-10 hours when you factor in drop off and bus duty whilst the kids dont wear masks or follow instructions re physical distancing etc.

I dont disagree that everyone is struggling, but parents have to take responisblity for caring for their own kids unless they are working on front line and if you are a SAHM that is actually your job.

Again it comes down to majorty doing the right thing, but the behaviour of a minority (which is growing) stretching this out, and schools and day care need the authoroty to refuse to take kids who parents are at home to minimise numbers.

And that was 7 weeks ago now, so she could have elected to have her second dose by now if she wanted to. There is no shortage of AZ in NSW.

Not sure whether its time for vaccination stuff to be moved again - but it will be a neverending discussion - Sydney (and now Melbourne) vaccination rules are much different to the rest of the nation, but some people want to remain blinkered to possibly push an agenda - eg let fully vaxxed be out of lockdown or some such thing, deaths and hospitalisation don't matter because they are undervaccinated and the reason they are undervaccinated is their fault.

She is actually quite educated and has followed up on the research re efficacy. Leaving it another few weeks increases that by quite a lot and that is actually important.
You are also assuming you know the date of the vaccination and a lot more. It was actually 6 weeks ago and she has been in Queensland for most of that time.
