It seems we have some Quinine sulphate tabs and a repeat that we will fill this morning.
Prescribed for cramp but we will try it out if things get messy

Of course one could also get stuck into the tonic water.
Cheap stuff has little quinine but there is goodstuf about with some content.

Exec summary .. G&T's are now quite therapeutic…...
Isn't alcohol an antiseptic? Plus lemon is good for colds. So, gin, quinine and lemon...homemade cure? Oh bugger I am out of lemons, and with Mrmac fair square in the red zone with his age, health history & compromised immune system I'm not so desperate as to brave the shops. I do however have heaps of champagne....

I trust that you have some support @Julesmac.
There needs to be strong support for the immune challenged among us, pick up services are one way the youngsters can help.
Atm , everyone in my circle of acquaintance has adequate support ( in terms of a younger mobile person)

SA was doing rather ok until -
US tourists in quarantine in Barossa after testing positive to COVID-19.
13 10 of a group of 19 test positive. They arrived in past fortnight. What chance do we have?

USA off on in la la land. Too many in the USA were blind to what was happening from the President on down.

Fortunately now we have closed our borders, including to the USA who have been the number one source of CV19 cases in Australia.

They apparently arrived just before the 14 day quarantine rule but it seems they were in the ES before they started the Barossa Valley wine tour.

There will be some frantic tracing of just how many cellar door samplings and touristy shops they went to in the valley.

They will need to establish when the symptoms first appeared. If 10 infected it may have been a while ago.

So, they made It here just before we acted? They would have been happy at the time by making it across the border before self-quarantine. But now ‘quarantined’

The alcohol needs to be at a certain concentration. Maybe 60-90%, but happy to be corrected. Many alcoholic drinks are just not strong enough.

5.5K new cases in the US yesterday which puts them just behind Italy, so they are rapidly rising up the list of infections. And that's just those they know about, am still unconvinced of their testing regime.

Five additional cases from the Ruby Princess that arrived in Sydney. Two in NT and 3 in Tasmania.

20/3 USA-cases-15219. Deaths 201. Population ~ 330 million.
Italy-cases-47021. Deaths-4021. Population ~ 60 million.

With respect, that’s completely meaninglessness in context of the first reported cases. Give it two weeks then quote figures. If one looks at the exponential curve on infection rates, IMHO the US will overtake Italy in a few weeks.
