Australian Reports of the Virus Spread

This is a worry for communities though. And I thought the official line was that it is only 24 hours before symptoms. So either that has proved to be malleable o r the source of the infection was somewhere else. : Eddie Mabo's granddaughter tests positive after sharing flight with Peter Dutton

Queensland prisoner advocate Debbie Kilroy and Eddie Mabo's granddaughter, activist Boneta-Marie Mabo, have both tested positive to COVID-19 after sharing a flight with Home Affairs Minister Peter Dutton.

Ms Kilroy confirmed on Monday morning she and Ms Mabo had tested positive, posting to social media that they were the first infected people being quarantined in the community. "We are not being hospitalised as there’s limited beds," she tweeted.
But how are people asserting that no one else on the plane didn’t have it and not tested. Or somewhere else? That gap seems a little long. In the case of Tom Hanks and Ms Wilson they were being interviewed by media people in close quarters and having selfies done and hugging etc. So that seems reasonable.

Interesting that you can post that about Dutton without <redaction> needing to happen but I can’t. Typical of some posters these days. Shame. They must be chomping at the bit waiting for the chance. Hope it drifts off once this virus washes through. All getting a bit nasty when everyone is under a lot of stress.

There asymptomatic Covid19 carriers in the community who are (potentially super) viral shedders with no symptoms. No symptoms = no testing so we have no idea. Yes a few attention seeking numbies out there. Just redact back or ignore them Pushka

I agree with your first paragraph but don’t know what he second paragraph refers to. But I don’t think anybody in that article asserted that it could not come from somewhere else. I think they just said that these two peple were on same plane the Dutton was on. But I can post the link to the article if that’s what you would like to see but then people come back and say it’s behind a pay wall so I just quoted. However, I’d have to try to find where I read it.
I also don’t know what your reference is to “typical of some posters” is all about either.

Media Beat up trying to link the two - it is almost gauranteed given the timing they picked the virus up before the boarded any flight back to Oz (the flight they shared was TO the USA):
Kilroy says she can’t be sure Dutton made them ill, but he was sitting just two seats in front and he’s the only confirmed case she’s aware of having contact with.

They were seated two rows behind Dutton apparently which is obviously in the two rows in front of / behind of that health authorities are deeming to be at high(er) risk of catching it from someone infected with Covid-19 on a plane.

Only if they were infectious -if you were to believe the unwritten assertion, then it could also be the case the Minister for Home Affairs caught it from them.

Note it is the same Health Authorities who state the Minister for Home Affairs was unlikely to have been infectious before Wednesday.

One more thing - the flight they shared was to the USA "Sydney to Los Angeles " so more than a week ago.

When in Woolies yesterday getting stuff for my elderly parents (well trying to), a couple were walking behind me when the lady sneezed. Trying not to be rude, I stole a glance as she sneezed again...aimed in the general direction of the broccoli. She fumbled in her bag for a tissue while then have a few stiffled coughs but ended up wiping her nose on her sleeve. I moved on quickly as did everyone else around them, but I unfortunately ended up with them in the queue behind me. Was going to head into Aldi but she then left him with the trolley and walked ahead towards Aldi so I went home. Couldve been a cold or allergy, how do you know?

Perhaps she hadn't heard about Covid-19 and the issues around it.

Didn't look 😳 but went straight to shower when home. And there was another lady with a mask on who lifted it to cough into her bare hand, then pulled it down again. Best to stay home

I was a bit worried hearing Richard Wilkins being interviewed on the radio this morning, as I guess he's asymptomatic - he has tested positive to Coronavirus, but apparently doesn't feel sick at all. A concerned person called in after him to stress that just because one person doesn't "feel sick", we shoudl all be less worried about contracting it or spreading it.

I would be worried about it getting into the communities. (I don't really mind who got it from whom where they were sitting or which flight it was or which media outlet it was).

The details of how it spreads are really important in determining how best to try slow it down. And as you say, we must stop it from entering vulnerable communities.

Ive never noticed how much I sneeze in the office. We recently had our aircon finally fixed and since then, lots of sniffles and sneezing. We had no aircon from mid December to late Feb and no sickness at all.

I sneeze everytime someone pumps the el cheapo hand sanitizer near me in the office the smell irritates my nose. At home I dont sneeze at all. Sneezing in itself is not a symptom of Covid-19.

I always sneeze a few hrs into any flight as the air becomes dry. Its never a good please to sneeze at the best of times and I'm glad I'm not travelling right now.

Or, put another way, Peter Dutton tested positive (edit) after sharing a flight with Debbie Kilroy and Bonta-Marie Mabo?

Yes, exactly, could be anyone, anywhere, even a person who shows no symptoms afterward. It is not a precise anything.

Or, put another way, Peter Dutton tested positive at sharing a flight with Debbie Kilroy and Bonta-Marie Mabo?
