Albeit what explains it going back up again now?
They have relaxed somewhat, bit it's on a frantic uptick again.
The period where they hit 75%/50% and a reasonable time after they were still somewhat in lockdown so it’s a lot more than relaxed somewhat, they’ve relaxed totally. Which explains the uptick.

Just under 120 cases today for the Covid number in Victoria. DoH already said deaths reported last night will also be included in today’s numbers

The 2 deaths were 2 women who each died in their own homes.

WA might not be the only state with a hospital problem.

They are always saying that. Last time hospitals were quiet because people didn't go to ED for numpty things but stayed away. Shame they weren't more vocal four years ago.

Blech. Covid test today. I swear I have never had so many sore throats this year. Never used to get them as a child. But think with the lupus treatment I'm on my immune system is compromised.

Not looking good...this is what happened in Sydney a few weeks, ago and look where we are now. :(

From memory the bulk of Shepparton Day 13 tests were to be over Thursday and Friday. If so that will probably mean a big couple of days coming.

Pretty definitive support of opening at 70% confirmed by Gladys this morning:

Gladys Berejiklian made the bold promise while speaking to Sunrise on Wednesday morning.

She said once the state hits it 70 per cent vaccination target for double doses “you can expect to do everything that you missed doing”.

“Whether it is attending a public event or having a drink, if you are fully vaccinated and the state has hit its 70 per cent double dose target, please expect to do all of those things we have been missing for too long,” Ms Berejiklian said.

“I’m looking forward to that and I want to thank everybody for coming forward to getting vaccinated.”

Single jab 70% predicted for Friday, which should get us to double jab around mid to late October.

Covid live is projecting 1 November in NSW.

It’s seems Victorian authorities are giving murmurings of giving up on covid zero. Did they start saying relaxations coming soon??? I’m guessing minor relaxation to support mental health until Vic gets to 70%/80%......or did I make it all up???!

6 weeks from reaching the % at first dose will be more accurate.

Theoretically some Pfizer extended to 6 weeks, Astra Zeneca brought in to 4-8 weeks in outbreak mode. But I have heard of some Pfizer’s still at 3 weeks in NSW, so most accurate might be 4-5 weeks from reaching % at first dose

Saw this on a reply to Raf Epstein on twitter. Pretty good evidence that all the debates around lockdown settings have been futile - they've all had a similar effect and none enough to get back to zero (we won't know about NZ for a few weeks yet, daily cases are down but still higher than any Australian state at this point in the outbreak).

Anecdotal, but There were as many people out and about on Saturday as there was on the dreaded weekend a few weeks back that resulted in the zero evidence knee jerk reaction to close playgrounds

People have had enough, and the force of government is no longer enough to hold back the tide. It's actually encouraging to see people take more agency in their own lives.

In a completely non-creepy way, I hope there are a lot of kids on the swings and the slides at the local playground tomorrow..!

That's for 80%... but 70% double dosed for NSW is currently projected for 18th October. I think there's a very good chance of that coming in by at least another week with the increased and ongoing supply of mRNA shots, as well.

Cheers,
Matt.

Personally, I think NSW and VIC have done the best job possible trying to suppress the virus, which after all was the goal right.

I honestly don't know what else people are expecting to happen next. Its pretty crystal clear what is going to happen.

Its just a pity our vaccine rollout has been such a disaster, otherwise we would be in a much better position and not caring about the case numbers so much.

Simple really ;)

Maybe we should have a what date does NSW hit 70% double dose discussion in this thread......

Edit: perhaps better in the Aussie vaccine begun thread.

If you have an issue with any level of thread blur, you best move to another section of these forums... 😛
