As time has passed I have become less and less impressed with Gladys 'trust me' message accompanied by less and less real information.
The biggest issue I see is lack of staff for additional capacity. NSW has done a lot of expansions and upgrade of hospitals in the past decade. But then ended up constrained by the staff levels. So for example Westmead has just had a 14 level building commissioned, with tons of rooms and new equipment. But they just don't have the people to staff it.That’s a good article. I concur with your thoughts. Will be interesting to see what if any modeling is released to the public by NSW Health

I know I am very dim but you are gonna have to explain that one to me. Did I not add unvaccinated in red to the post you quoted? I am confused. (No change there - I spend my life in a perpetual state of confusion.)

I don't think the NSW government is being honest with the public about relaxing restrictions at 80% vaccination rates
An outcome from too many lockdowns over too long a period?NSW has been very consistent at R in a 1.2-1.4 range for weeks.
Vic is more variable but it looks closer to 2.
This is exactly what happened in the UK with the Nightingale Hospitals - setup quickly to cope with the expected covid surge. The biggest issue I see is lack of staff for additional capacity. This is gonna get worse as the state opens up.

Yes quite likely. And possible the next outcome we will see is a rapid ramp up of hospitalization and seeking to flatten the curve we had crushed for quite some time.An outcome from too many lockdowns over too long a period?
A growing number, and the test volume seems low to me, perhaps also because of lockdown weariness.Yes quite likely. And possible the next outcome we will see is a rapid ramp up of hospitalization and seeking to flatten the curve we had crushed for quite some time.
Cases up again today and all we're hearing is lifting restrictions... Very odd feeling after spending this while wretched time in Melbourne.
Testing numbers have been on the low side for quite some time, not sure we will ever see the likes of 100k+ in Victoria unless government puts in requirements for surveillance testing in certain suburbs etc similar to Sydney LGAs of concernA growing number, and the test volume seems low to me, perhaps also because of lockdown weariness.
And ramping contributes to another problem that ambulances are static and can’t attend to the next emergency.Surge capacity of Australian intensive care units associated with COVID-19 admissions

This report is a bit out of date, but one can assume that the numbers are fairly static.
All quite chilling.. how many ordinary citizens will die from accidents and common diseases while the ICU's are clogged with dying Covid patients ?
Most state hospital admission processes are already overloaded .
Ambulances on ramps are the new age hospital emergency admission facilities.
I thought I heard NSW Premier said next week - not sure if I misheard or slip of tongue. So could be up to 14 days.NSW cases down today, 1281. Confirmed peak is expected within a week.
Sounds like NSW will escape reaching 2000+ daily cases, at least on a rolling average basis.

In the 3m clip posted on ABC blog, NSW Premier said "peak of cases in the next week or so", so probably your meaning, but she did use the word next......She said “within a week or so”
They will never scare monger lol modelling can't predict how things will happen when restrictions lift because the lifting restrictions probably won't be inputted into the modelling being released today. And when does the modelling predict they will go back up? Or they haven’t gone / released that far yet?
