Currently Omicron is sipping some nice wine in the Hunter and surfing at Newcastle. It’s undecided if it will pop up to the Goldy or down to Melbourne next en masse…. Or both 😂

With up to 47* flights / day expected into HBA after we open tomorrow, how could it resist a visit here?

I'm worried that our CHO it's benchmarking himself against SA 🙄🙁. Hopefully having the 5th test may cause the Premier to be a bit sensible.

* HBA CEO's statement.

I hear it loves a yacht race… got any coming up 😂

PS 47 flights is pretty impressive for HBA though all the new QF Perth routes will be cancelled within a week I’m sure :(

How many variants do you think all the borders need to be closed for? Another 2, 4, 6?
Because there will be 2,4,6…..more before we are done.

And then there’s a cricket test match, direct from Sydney 😂

My view is quite selfish but the answer is I don't care.. whatever it takes …
The bug continues to evolve rapidly and remains out of control.
IMO the present fed strategy is budget and election driven , very high risk and overtly populist..... lemmings and piers come to mind….

Evolving into less harmful variants is a good thing.

Hospitalisations and ICU admissions remain more than manageable - our systems are not over run. We have vaccines and better treatments than we did last year.

If as an individual you want to remain a hermit that is fine but that isnt living with Covid that is hiding under the doona

That’s actually a myth the lemmings thing…

But there is absolutely nothing stopping you from isolating until you personally feel comfortable with your calculated risk tolerance of course :)

Fair enough. I’ll make it easy for you. Independent member for Gold Coast N860CR has announced a full blown lockdown. It only applies to tgh. I’m keeping you safe.

Everybody else, take some self responsibility.

WA shrieking about 2 seperate local cases from truck drivers from SA. SA is being blamed. At least it’s not NSW being yelled at for once.

I was looking for a quote from Dr Strangelove to illustrate the covid position of WA. While I still think that's valid, I came across this quote site ... which for me served up an ad for the Australian army. 😱😳🙄

If you don't know Dr Strangelove, check out the quotes and film clips 😊

For 'Communist' read covid:

General Jack D. Ripper: He said war was too important to be left to the generals. When he said that, 50 years ago, he might have been right. But today, war is too important to be left to politicians. They have neither the time, the training, nor the inclination for strategic thought. I can no longer sit back and allow Communist infiltration, Communist indoctrination, Communist subversion and the international Communist conspiracy to sap and impurify all of our precious bodily fluids.

Fanny’s AKA The Argyle in Newcastle has taken the crown as the biggest Omicron transmission event.
Quite likely so.

Looks like somewhere in the UK might take a crown, as unofficially approx 200,000 Omicron infections were expected in the UK yesterday.

Might be food for thought for open slather opening up in NSW right now.

But, of course, time will tell...

Why?
Double the cases but hospitalisations only up 11% from 6 days ago. Plus ICU down 20%.

Then add the fact the ones most protected from covid are double vaxxed plus previous covid infection.
