Dinner at La Cuccina in Beaumaris last Fri nt with friends and at 6pm tonight we get the dreaded ’ping’ on the phone.

So the Ette and Moi are off to get Covid test sparrow fart morrow morn - restaurant closed - our plans for next coupla days screwed - will live in interesting times huh?
What type of contact are you classified as? Kind of strange that fully vaxxed from being in a restaurant would need to test without symptoms.

I thought we were over this sitting in the same pub at the same time business...thoughts with you @Cruiser Elite hope you find a quick testing station!

And as usual the inconsistencies between the states, got a similar alert in NSW for being at a restaurant at the same time as someone positive. However all it says is monitor for symptoms.

Yes,

Fortunately in Vic daycare kids no longer have to isolate for 7/14 days, it’s negative test and off you go. Otherwise Miss TC might not have gone to daycare this week in an attempt to avoid ruining Christmas. I am trying to keep exposure to a minimum though, not going out anywhere unnecessarily.

Checking in to Tropic @ Burleigh last evening , the bouncer was polite but firm..check in and vax cert or no entry.
It's hard to avoid being nailed atm...

Many venues in Sydney have removed their QR scan notice, so it is not possible to check-in.

Yep QR codes only remain at venues where check in is still mandated - pubs, aged care, Taxi/Uber, Hairdresser, Beauty services - hospitals and medical centres.

This is a good ting, as means you wont get pinged for simply going about your day to day business.

Observation downtown Hobart today. At least 50% - maybe 3/4 - of people on the street are wearing masks - even though not required ( indoors only required).

Regarding an earlier comment about daycares, schools etc - Jimmy Rees' latest Meanwhile in Australia bit had me close to crying when he was connecting the 'open shut them' childrens' song to the rules about what happens to a venue post-exposure.

The more the rules change, the less compliance we will see, I believe.

Not sure which thread this belongs in. Just got pinged by SNSW that a Covid positive person was in the medical centre I visited yesterday to have my booster. Luckily, the waiting room was pretty full when I got there and they sent me down the hall to wait on my own, so unless its the nurse who jabbed me I should be ok. Lots of people reporting close calls etc at the moment.
