In my mind, red wine works as a cure.
I still go to my grandfather's cure. Lemon juice with a suitable amount of rum.

As to Tasmania community care is a hotel room -1 in Hobart and one in Launceston. Most of these are travellers with no home to isolate in. But different to QLD as I believe no cost to the "guest".
There are a couple of locals as well who for one reason or another can't isolate at home.

1471 in SA
No further restrictions on the table but elective surgery to be halted except for Priority 1.
Tests will be refused for QLD travellers as they are clogging our system.
Steve very testy and threw a few barbs at the opposition leader
National Cabinet meeting tomorrow to discuss uniform test, isolate and other rules. RAT’s high on the agenda

Tas has had "covid@home" since they opened the borders and the vast majority of cases are at home. Rest are in "community health care" wherever that means, but not hospital ( one case is, but not for covid).

I think we've also just abolished the 'casual contact' category.

Yes I had lunch at a venue and the owner was furious that businesses were still being published as casual contacts as apparently it was ‘killing the restaurants’.

I checked and apparently they already have stop listing businesses as well on their website for low risks and casual but still doing it for close contacts… I assured him that it will all end soon and gave him a tip :)

I was worried about this elective surgery ban as MrP seeing ENT in Jan as his sinus issues have blown up and CT scan last week showed severe sinus blockage, polyps, and infection. Would that qualify for Priority 1? Mask wearing has made it much worse.

Not sure. Marshall was just pre warning and the Commission is due to draft up a new order today

Another emergency Nat Cab - no doubt the exploding testing systems will be a hot topic. Naughty QLD ;)

Hopefully this also means less restrictive close contact definitions, less isolation time required etc

Prime Minister Scott Morrison calls snap national cabinet

Prime Minister Scott Morrison has brought forward a meeting of national cabinet as people scramble for tests, face hours in queues, and Covid cases surge to record daily highs in four states.

National cabinet will convene on Thursday to discuss a range of issues relating to the rampant spread of the virus, and the stresses it has placed the nation’s testing regime.

This includes potential changes to the definition of what constitutes a “close contact” and the appropriate trigger points for isolating health and hospitality staff.

While Mr Morrison said the Omicron phase of the pandemic had sent infections soaring, he noted the number of people presenting to hospitals had not followed suit, indicating that Omicron is indeed a far less severe variant as evidenced by similar experiences in several European countries.

Marshall in his Press Conf today said that SA would be following National Cabinet definitions as to casual/close contacts, testing and quarantine issues. We will hit 90% DD >12 years in the next week. So he seems to be holding his nerve. He also said they'd prepared 300 beds and yesterday still the same number in hospital care and ICU. The young man in ICU has been there for some time. No details as to any significant pre existing issues.

Obviously they don’t release details but I’m wondering if it’s a bloke that worked with us.
We sacked a guy in his late 20’s about a month ago because he refused mandatory vaccination and I bumped into him a few weeks later and copped a 10 minute sermon on how Covid was fake and he will never get vaccinated. Fast forward to last week and one of his mates that still works in the company commented that Chris had contracted Covid and was very sick and taken to RAH in ambulance. I haven’t heard any more but just wondering could it be him???

2 cases in WA.

One from the Mess Hall that tested negative last week.
One linked to the Backpacker community, but unsure where they got it.

It's Delta there isn't it? Somewhat longer incubation periods maybe, unless it's been circulating.

Yes, the initial case was Delta. I am not sure if they have verified the rest, but they had been assuming the rest were Delta.
