Australian Reports of the Virus Spread

And in unrelated news ‘Desperate CHO makes up own health advice to try and stay in the spotlight a few days longer’.

Seriously though, they can do whatever they want. Doubt many will follow it, I won’t be when I’m there, sorry.
Many aren’t complying now but some are still fearful of being fined for non compliance.
QR compliance for instance has really dropped off but SAPOL are still out and about although you would have to pretty unlucky to get caught

When does the Governor of South Australia need to be replaced?

Hey it worked for us 😂 - ours is now well along the trodden path “promoting problems” and the sun has never shone brighter in QLD 😂

Maybe she could replace The WA Premier/Treasurer/CHO 😂

Tasmania figures for today. Just 1 extra hospital admission but the whole State now moves to level 2 covid status. This means even visitors to a clinical area must use N95 masks.

Yep. Seems like the best outcome. Bodies aren’t piling up on the streets. Virtually nobody is actually sick. Time to move on
I genuinely hope this holds for the next 2-3 weeks and we don't get many more cases like the child who was lost in SA. I do think that children passing away with or from covid would impact public/political opinion.

When has the modeling ever been right?
And when the modelling is wrong, guess what, they just replace it with an “updated” one

Well it’s also applicable to say any of your predictions of a number that you have ever made in life on this scale (population public health based) are wrong too. No matter how many studies and surveys you share.

I hate to say it but as covid spreads rapidly then more people will be dying ‘with’ it. We sadly had a kid pass away outside one of our clinics last week (heart related we think) and being in Sydney quite possible had covid at the same time. So what? People die all the time. We don’t need to know every last detail.

The hysterics kicked up in SA by SA health and coroner inquest and leading bulletin breathless reporting is obscene they should be ashamed of themselves. Even if it turns out covid contributed it needs to be dealt with privately and considerately.

Highly unlikely that covid had a great impact on the child’s health outcome. Sadly, children often make up the 500ish people a day who die in Australia.

Remember the teenager who died from an infected toenail? That sadly didn’t lead to state funded pedicures.

And the SA Government back peddling begins after the CHO's blabbering this morning.

A good comment from one journo mentioning how confusing the SA Health commentary is.... only took them 21 odd months to final ask a hard question. Where's Chris Kenny? He's back here in Adelaide on holidays at the moment!

Does anyone have access to the figures about how many of the people in ICU have delta not omicron?

In SA the only info we get is that 81% of the cases are omicron. But I have anecdotally heard that all or most of the 4 people in ICU in SA actually have delta, and that the majority of covid hospitalisations in SA are delta too. SA Health is apparently keeping the breakdown a secret though.
