Why we we using highly trained clinical nursing staff to jab arms so far in to this thing

It's absurd
For the same reason SA banned RAT for so long. For the same reason a close contact is deemed at 15 minutes and not four hours. Because we are making panicked decisions on the run with no consistent, but flexible, plan.

WA has recorded 5 local cases. Four are linked to previous cases, and one sits in the mystery basket.

And a older population, median age in Tasmania (42) is highest of any state or territory.

There are also no remote aboriginal communities in TAS (along with ACT and even VIC i believe)

And about half of the population live in the one town (of 250,000+/-)

Is there any State that has less than 50% of the population in the capital? I would have thought Tasmania is still quite de-centralised at 50% not in Hobart.

Are there any State (not Territory) capitals under 250,000? Most of the rest (say 200,000-250,000) in Tassie are probably located near the capital city of North Tasmania, just up the road. 😉 Not many others left to vax really.

Maybe someone in Tassie has more to add?

Sounds like we've got some envy going, @nutwood :)

Three cities, to be precise ;)

Not even close, but keep trying :)

Envy? Can't figure how to take that as it's a bit left field.
I'm very slightly sad that Tasmania is slowly centralising. There's less business in regional towns than 25 years ago. Equally so, I'm quite happy that there seems to be a push back against this. More than anything, I'm happy to be home having spent the last week on the north island.
I should add, it's actually really terrible in Tasmania but it's my home and I'm forced to suffer it 😣

W.A. premier holding a press conference at 730 pm Perth time

Maybe a bad set of numbers today? Let's see...

I'm thinking some sort of restrictions.

Border stuff would be announced during the day, I would have thought.
Friend and I have assumed if it's border related, the late hour is to bypass print media deadlines and the usual news bulletins here in the east...

I was talking about our Covid / vax figures, but never mind 😊
Ah-ha, on the same page now. Sorry, I'm a bit fried and not thinking in too many dimensions. From my observations across three (four if counting Tassie) States in the last week, the general populace is feeling the same. Everyone has just had enough and are really just looking for a comfortable rock to hide under.
