Note as per my other replies on you question if you mean this report that you posted this afternoon, that was the report for the 29th July and not today's report (30th July).

  • The overall total has increased by 255 with 40 cases being reclassified – largely due to duplication.
  • Of the new cases, 34 are linked to outbreaks or complex cases and 261 are under investigation.
  • There are 1,418 cases that may indicate community transmission, an increase of 55 since yesterday’s report.
  • 307 people are in hospital, including 41 patients in intensive care.
  • Sadly, there have been 9 new deaths reported since yesterday. To date, 92 people have died from coronavirus (COVID-19) in Victoria.

I think we leave this.

Not this report. I knew this was yesterday report.

Today's Vic DHHS Report,

Media release
30 July 2020

Victoria has recorded 723 new cases of coronavirus since yesterday, with the total number of cases now at 9,998.
The overall total has increased by 694 due to 29 cases being reclassified – largely due to duplication.

Within Victoria, 64 of the new cases are linked to outbreaks or complex cases and 660 are under investigation.

There have been 13 new deaths from COVID-19 reported since yesterday. They were three men in their 70s, three women in their 70s, three men in their 80s, two women in their 80s and two men in their 90s. Ten of the 13 deaths are linked to known outbreaks in aged care facilities. To date, 105 people have died from coronavirus in Victoria.

  • 5385 cases are currently active in Victoria
  • 312 cases of coronavirus are in hospital, including 34 in intensive care

  • Of the total cases, 9230 cases are from metropolitan Melbourne, while 565 are from regional Victoria

Organisation based outbreaks totals include contacts as well as employees/residents/staff/students of that location/business.
Last week, we announced that face coverings would be mandatory in metropolitan Melbourne and Mitchell Shire. Today, we announced that same requirement will apply across regional Victoria.
That means from Sunday 2 August at 11:59pm, a face covering will be mandatory whenever you leave home – wherever you live.

My Comment.
Yesterday were are 804 active cases relating to outbreaks across aged care facilities
There are 877 active cases relating to outbreaks across aged care facilities

Also from the above some of the larger aged care clusters at present would seem to in Not For Profit age care facilities. ie St Basils. Baptcare, Kirkbrae Presbyterian Homes . Other clusters are in the Private sector facilities.

Note that NFP age care facilities are large in number.
If St Basil's is anything like the NSW St Basil's - very much for profit although heavily disguised. Developed a 10 storey tower to sell off as over 50's units as part of their development in Randwick in an area previously max height 3 storeys & heritage zoned. Also launched commercial laundry taking outside work, & conference centre etc etc.

There’s certainly something a bit strange about those photos. The images may have been doctored.
I think the one girl might have Kenyan heritage - the name indicates it - so that with lots of makeup rather than Botox...

Well that is going to possibly depend on how you define profit.

Not that I set the rules, but charities churches etc are allowed to do things such as this despite their tax free status, and overall are meant to be not for profit. Some churches have considerable wealth.

Anyway ignoring that, both NFP and Private Sector (for profit) Residential aged care are both prominent in numbers of Covid 19 Cases.

So many people are doing everything so right, and then there is this:

So Eve Black, then Bunnings Karen and now the Tassie Penguin lady. All self-entitled.

So many people are doing everything so right, and then there is this:

The last time in Launceston this happened the magistrate held the case over until the quarantine period was over so he swapped a hotel room for a cell.Probably needs to do the same with this lassie.

As to what should happen to the Melbourne covidiots such as Eve and Bunnings Karen is to be forced to watch this video mrsdrron came across. It may have been posted before and warning coarse language.

Just looking at some figures of active cases, NSW has got to be worried, an uncanny coincidence.. Hopefully the divergence today from the pattern can be sustained.

VIC active cases at 5 day intervals from 15 Jun: 49, 110, 163 then +3 days 231
NSW active cases at 5 day intervals from 17 Jul: 49, 110, 160 then today (+3 days) 203

There is a brilliant one of Nicola Sturgeon
Been arrested and with a court appearance tonight. We don't much around

Sweet. We had a magistrate do similar a couple of weeks ago with a border intruder. Refused to grant him police bail and read him the riot act saying he could have killed someone.

What are the numbers for the next three days? If you have them.

Today was a bad day for NSW with now upto 11 being potential community transmission (unknown source), including 6 under investigation since Crossroad Hotel emerged.

203 is the number to yesterday 8pm - does that make a difference....reported today. Is that +2 or +3 according to your timeline?

Victorian numbers, reported today are similar. Results of tests conducted up on the previous day.

Breaking: NSW Health issues several new location warnings as inner Sydney spread escalates

NSW Health are now issuing additional warnings for several venues across Sydney, and are urging people to monitor symptoms and get tested if required.

A confirmed positive case of COVID-19 attended Matinee Coffee in Marrickville on Sunday July 26 and on Monday July 27.

Another, who is linked to the funeral gatherings cluster, attended Tan Viet Noodle House in Cabramatta on Thursday July 23.

Another case confirmed today who attended the Apollo Restaurant in Potts Point on Saturday July 25 also attended Harpoon and Hotel Harry in Surry Hills on Sunday 26 July for more than 9 hours.

I appreciate the thinking. If (for the last 3 numbers Only accounted for new cases (and not deducting ageing cases that become inactive), then the NSW numbers would be 160, 174, 193, 211.....hopefully a slight break from the Melbourne experience.

Hopefully I find the time to be following this one over the next 3 days
