26 y.o. tested positive. He works at a quarantine hotel. Only the one case, but a number of exposure sites.

It doesn't sound like any restrictions.
I spoke too soon.

Masks to be worn inside. No more than 15 people at home. No move to 75% employees returning to work next Monday.

It probably wont be the UK strain so wont require such drastic measures plus he wants get his emergency powers extended so has to be level headed.

Hopefully it is. Two “breakouts” in Brisbane and Perth that impacted nobody seem to suggest it’s not a bad strain to get out.

So - what borders are slamming shut?

WA for sure he desperately needs a distraction from his absolute mess of HQ and lock down.

Maybe QLD? I don’t know... she seems to be less panicky these days.

Rest - who knows.

The premiers are clearly trying to pressure the Fed gov into action on quarantine and this is one good way to do it....

Vic think it’s the UK strain. That would probably mean all but NSW will close to Melbourne Metro.

Mind you, Vic haven’t locked down even though they suspect the UK strain. Maybe after Brisbane and Perth we’re less concerned about the other variations.

600 tennis players/staff deemed as casual contacts and in isolation until they return a negative result which will affect the schedule tomorrow

We all know Mark will come out tomorrow with Victoria need go hard and knock this on the head instead of dancing around like NSW playing Wack a Mole.

Why would they? VIC have dealt with several clusters broken without locking down. As have NSW.

Only the states that have not managed a recent outbreak have run screaming to a lock down without trusting their containment and tracing teams.

Oh I’m team NSW for sure. I think the Brisbane and Perth lockdowns were ridiculous. However, it seemed like that is the new normal.

New normal - for states with no clue on how to break a cluster and for states with sloppy COVIDSafe behaviours in their population.

Is this the first time a late night announcement has been made by a Premier for a covid case.

It’s clearly been done for a very different audience than the domestic one.... doesn’t take a rocket scientist to work out why they have all the power brokers in VIC are fronting the media right now ;)

Mr Andrews confirmed it will be treated as a community transmission, so there goes WA and likely QLD.

Looking at the exposure locations it appears the guard was using mobile check in as a lot of the locations have very specific start times ie 2:36pm

Or maybe looking at his Google Maps history. Mine is surprisingly accurate.
