Well Victoria takes the prize as the winner of the most ridiculous border decision this time. All Brisbane banned.
What, when?
I haven’t seen that announced yet.
Still only test and isolate on arrival isn’t it?

And Brisbane take the cake for having 2 known mystery cases with no doubt more, but only having sub 7,000 tests.

Poor turnout imo.

Public support and interest is plummeting..... this was always going to happen and honestly up here there never was a the level of rigour from the public on infection control, distancing etc like you see in VIC and NSW.

Now vaccinations are rolling out, every person who has a jab is one person that becomes less worried + their close friends and family become less worried for them as well right.... so for every jab say maybe 5 people are less worried = couple million Australians who are now more relaxed and less receptive to the state CHOs/premiers daily screech fest.

It was always going to happen.

So there is something more recent than that below?

Update: Queensland Travel Permit Zone

The Queensland Local Government Areas (LGAs) of Brisbane and Moreton Bay have been designated an orange zone under Victoria’s ‘traffic light’ travel permit system.
People entering Victoria from an orange zone (excluding people who have only passed through an orange zone during transit to the airport) must apply for an orange zone permit.
You cannot obtain an orange zone permit if you have COVID-19 symptoms. On arrival in Victoria, orange zone permit holders must immediately self-isolate, get a coronavirus test within 72 hours of arriving, and stay isolated until a negative result is received.
To apply for a travel permit to enter Victoria, visit Service Victoria.

Yep. And we’ve had too many state government panics. People are over it and honestly, who can blame them. The funny thing is... this particular “outbreak” is far worse (comparatively speaking) than the previous incidents in Brisbane/Perth/Melbourne, however the premiers used their one panicked “lockdown” card last time so it’ll struggle to get traction again.

WA goes whole of Queensland for 3 days. Updated public health alert for arrivals from Queensland

Effective immediately, all new arrivals from Queensland need to be tested for COVID-19 within 48 hours and self-quarantine for 14 days or until a negative result is returned.

This three-day interim border control measure will be in effect until at least Tuesday, 30 March 2021 but further border control measures could be introduced, based on updated public health advice.

Directions issued on Friday, 26 March continue to apply in addition to these new measures.

Thanks for posting that. For me, that equates to drron's 'being banned' - or causing anyone who doesn't have to go to Victoria, who has been to Brisbane, to 'self ban'. Sigh. I expect Tasmania won't be far behind.

There goes the Easter travel plans of many.

I wonder if you can transit MEL airport, if you have transited BNE airport without being thrown into HQ on arrival in MEL?

EDIT: Found it:

I am briefly passing through Victoria from a red or orange zone and am not staying in Victoria. Do I need a travel permit?
If you are briefly passing through Victoria from a red or orange zone, you, and any children travelling with you, must obtain a transit permit which is valid for 24 hours from the time and date that you first enter the State of Victoria. You must also abide by the following conditions:

As long as the testing sites are plentiful and results back within 24 hours, then I guess it's better than the alternative. But who knows when it goes from Orange to Red? It's the uncertainty of further restrictions that is probably the bigger problem. And fuelling anxiety (my own included).

There are multiple references to a 'transit permit' for Victoria on the web page and FAQs that LTO and I noted above. I'm damned if I can find anywhere to apply for a Victorian 'transit permit'. There is one hyperlink for 'transit permit', but that merely points to the same FAQ page its on. Can anyone assist, please?

Dr FM was going to come back from Brisbane for Easter and then decided not to as airfares were very expensive and she is still paying off all the money it cost to return from London. Probably just as well. She is booked to come back for ANZAC day, but we feel even if there are still restrictions in a month we can take her to get tested immediately she lands and then she just needs to isolate until the test comes back the next day, so it will still work. Being fully vaccinated should help and she can have the top floor and her own bathroom and l can leave meals at the top of the stairs for the one night :)

If you are only transiting Brisbane airport surely you don’t need anything, or are you actually going to be in Brisbane?

Hope she gets home to you soon.

It is more difficult for those of us who can not work from home. If you got trapped elsewhere and you could work from home, as long as the boss was in agreeance that you could work remotely from another state, it would not be a significant inconvenience. For those in essential services or otherwise needing to be physically present at work regardless, it is really difficult to mentally commit to leaving the state for any reason. Presumably Dr FM is in that boat too.

Yes she is - first thing she said yesterday - glad I didn’t book to come home. Just very hard :( we have seen her for 2 days in the last 13 months. Oh well some have had to wait longer :(

Until young Mark played his joker indeed Victoria was in front. Just think of the AFL game in Geelong. Pathetic behaviour.
