“Couldn’t” is a policy decision of the Queensland State Government. Other states successfully run hot hotels.I think previously it was noted that Qld didn’t / couldn’t have hot hotels.
If Queensland cuts their quota the burden is largely transferred to the NSW Government yet again.
You may recall that Dr Stephen Miles ripped up the quarantine invoice from NSW so I expect willingness from the NSW Government will be low.
In the meantime we need to consider deployment of a field hospital to PNG to remove some of the medivac demand. I think only a handful of staff have gone up but no AUSMAT team.
