There was a women on TV earlier today that has been caught breaking self isolation not once but TWICE!
The first time she was caught they let her off with a warning and she immediately went out and broke the rules again. She got a $1000 fine for her efforts but I would have been happy to see her cop a lot more. Seize their assets if need be

Here we go! What dumbnut would attend a Bali wedding 6 day ago

When did the DNT start? My hairdresser was due to fly out next week for a wedding in Bali. So many months spent planning. We would be well on our way now.

18th March. IIRC 13th March was the date when the RYNTT was issued, Surely people don't need to be spoon feed the obvious, a 5min glance at the daily news over the past month + would be the only advice required.

Bali must be totally inundated with this bug. God help them, because their government wont.

Ok. They are FW. Sadly yes, we do need to spoon feed and even then some spit it out. It is as I mentioned a few weeks ago. They go to Bali, act like it's all ok, then come back to Australia and test positive.

And she arrived home 5 days ago from a wedding there.Possibly that wedding?
Now the News article said she was 65 and was from Newcastle so she would have been 20 when these guys drove down Hunter street. She may have been one of the sheilas

Fining a person is in my opinion useless. people are people - and the current generation are a self-entitled lot. I would be as happy to see the government individuals fined for the stupidity of thinking that any non-enforced measures would be effective....

Waverley Council, home to Bondi Beach, in Sydney’s eastern suburbs has the highest number of confirmed cases in NSW with a total of 105.

And yet some maintain Bondi Beach should not have been shut.

Victorias’s hotspot is the local council area of Stonnington, home to some of Victoria’s most wealthy suburbs.

According to data from Vic Health, Stonnington has 58 confirmed cases of coronavirus.

Daily numbers have started to drop... early days, but it's going in the right direction.

If I understand correctly the graph and other things I have read:

The new cases per day (proviso - discovered & reported) has reduced from previous days which is a positive sign

However, the brakes can't be taken off and the number of serious cases requiring admittances is far more important as the length of stay is extensive and the health system will be overrun startlingly fast.

Even after the number of new cases drops to near zero the existing cases can turn bad and require ICU or general hospital beds for weeks to months.

Happy to be corrected. Not even close to the action, nor have any qualifications in the arena.

It's almost like you don't want any positive change to become public knowledge because numpties will either say, it was a beat up, or that phew, we can go party now.

we can go party now

indeed.. and this will become a major problem as the novelty wears off , the bills roll in, the wife/husband kids drive themselves/each other crazy.
The orientals appear to be far more accepting of regimentation and discipline .
As a group we Australians generally expect/demand to be free to do whatever we want whenever we want ..and the consequences be damned.
The pm appeared palpably relieved at our obsequious acceptance last friday.. getting it to stay that way will be a major challenge

And that's why it's been a gradual tightening of restrictions. If he went full bore straight up he would have to have done this for so long that pretty much everyone would give up

I think it can be described as a gradual "acclimatisation" for the populace to both the the new temporary requirements and the longer term "norm" while minimising where possible the economic impacts and general civic unrest.

The supermarket rush in AU was minor compared to what we all have observed has happened in various countries when social disorder breaks down for a variety of reasons over the years.
