stay in your own state and then you can't get locked in or out of places.
I really need a mini break and was looking at outside of my home state (SA) but stuff like this makes me just go - nope stay in your own state and then you can't get locked in or out of places.
Yep, similar. Just have to be prepared to cancel at a minutes noticeGosh really? You just have to be flexible... I’m flying all over Australia at the moment. On a plane as I type this right now
Has anyone asked if he also worked for Uber eats, Deliveroo etc as they aren’t a ride share company so it’s possible he was doing multiple jobs? The Police Commissioner has just confirmed that the infected man has not worked as an Uber driver since 3 days before his last negative Covid test.

None of the journalists’ questions at the media conference extended beyond rideshare driver.Has anyone asked if he also worked for Uber eats, Deliveroo etc as they aren’t a ride share company so it’s possible he was doing multiple jobs?
I thought he said he hasn't worked as an UBER since testing positive. And the fact he was working as UBER led to a lot of press scrutiny. At the presser the Premier stated his information was that the man had not worked elsewhere since his hotel quarantine shifts Jan 26 & 27. Which does raise the question why multiple extended duration potential exposure sites have been identified, including a KFC for a 6 hour period. Perhaps they are where his flat mates, who have so far tested negative, worked - though that has not been made explicit.
The CHO said he was symptomatic from Jan 28, tested positive Jan 30, being treated as infectious since Jan 26. Daily surveillance testing of all WA hotel quarantine workers only began Jan 28 or 29.
He is getting hammered right now as to why procedures weren't up to standards.

Let's hope he doesn't like Pizza then because it seems stories seem to become more detailed with more questioning. The Police Commissioner was very specific in saying that, according to all the information that was currently available, the man hadn't worked as an UBER driver since about 2 days before he returned a negative test result last weekend.
- QLD will probably be the first out the gate to shut the border, the mutant virus seems to have scared QLD Health alot
I hope all states leave the border to WA residents open.
As delicious as retaliatory closures would be, I think it would say much more to leave things open than to close them.
I am concerned that a Premier believes he can actually request to have other premiers and the PM have travel to his state stopped.
Mad.
That was his wife and family, or the people he lives with, whichever applies.Maybe the close contacts are also user drivers? Interesting comment from Premier we expect them to become positive. Alarmist or are they not disclosing info?
I am currently in air on a QF flight from PER to MEL. A man across the aisle had heard about the new COVID case and I heard him asking the FA if flight was still going. This was 12:30pm. Obviously it was too soon for Victoria to have heard or made decisions. We took off. In flight WiFi, so I listened to Mark McGowan’s press conference. Most passengers will have no idea. We don't know yet if we can go about our business in Melbourne or if Victoria wants us to quarantine for 14 days. My sister in Melbourne is keeping an ear open. If Vic wants 14 days quarantine, which is their right, then I hope I can fly home immediately or on the next available flight. I can hardly visit my mother in aged care, which is the purpose of this trip.
I live on the other side of the city to the security guard and went nowhere he or his family did. I was at work in Joondalup all week. Nevertheless I respect whatever decisions will be made. I just hope it’s not a tit-for-tat reaction. We saw how far and quick the Black Rock case went, so we cannot be too careful.
I just hope I can fly back hone to Perth.
Edit: flight arrives 6:20pm Melbourne time
