The murmuring is that there is 5 FIFO workers who've tested positive.

Hovering... I think they're already touching it and applying pressure, but not quite enough force just yet. Just don't sneeze as that will send it over the top!
They and their families were negative on Monday? And in isolation so hopefully not enough to press harder.

Two people in our business have stayed at this mine and it isn't a place to be fully quarantined.

Hmm, Prof Spurrier cancelled media discussions this morning and press conference signalled for later. Enjoy the freedom today people in SA.

Cough pizzagate cough AFL footballs kicked into crowds...

I bet a certain someone is in an emergency blow wave appointment right now and another grumpy old man is being reanimated from his coffin to growl out a few lines :)

3 new local cases for QLD - all linked.

Issues on the Gold Coast not wearing masks.

Another disastrous press conference with the QLD CHO and QLD premier quoting a random BBC article and stoking more fears in QLD over vaccines for political point scoring... yawn what a disgrace... 4 more months of this... 4 more months...

Oh and some more casual racism from the deputy premier attacking Chinese and Indonesians etc... lovely. And they actually lied about several points. Lied.

Embarassed to be a Queenslander when I see this ignorant rubbish (again)

Four cases confirmed today in Queensland

One is in hotel quarantine.

Three are locally acquired and all close contacts of previous cases.

The first local case is the brother of the Prince Charles Hospital worker, the second is a contact of the Portuguese Centre cluster and the third is a contact of a Virgin flight attendant

Home quarantine is only safe if people do the right thing which time and time again has proven not to be the case.

The other point is with so much apartment living in cities someone going down the lobby of their building to get their mail/ pick up a grocery delivery / Uber eats means they are coming into contact with other people and surfaces through the building and it becomes non sterile and home quarantine pointless

Is your average apartment building even more risky then a hotel building?

Most delivery companies wont come further then the lobby so your potentially stuck with no way to access essentials you'll need for 14 days if your not allowed past your front door

I have a friend in Hong Kong who did home quarantine last year. I think they way it worked was you did one night HotelQ on arrival, got tested and if negative released to home quarantine for the next 2 weeks. They had a bracelet for GPS tracking. BUT, other people came and went from the apartment throughout that 2 weeks. Now they are looking to travel again and I believe have to do 21 days HotelQ on return. So I'm not sure if HK decided home quarantine didn't work or what the reasoning was for the change.

Family of 3 I believe, not sure if they are connected to miners

Little update on the Adelaidenow site...

Urgent retesting is currently underway for a group of South Australian miners who returned from a Northern Territory mine at the centre of a Covid outbreak – after a positive test result.
The Advertiser understands SA Health is currently retesting 29 people who returned from the Tanami gold mine in recent days, where five positive cases of the fast-moving Delta strain have been linked.

At the very least a significant proportion of apartments done have shared HVAC systems like hotels do. They typically have mini-split air conditioners.

However you are spot on about having to pass through shared spaces.

In Singapore they allow "Stay at Home" notices to be served at peoples residences (which by and large are apartments) only for a small subset of arrivals, those deemed to be lower risk. At the moment that includes 7 days at home for people who have been in NSW (+ Macau, Hong Kong and Guangdong province), and 14 days at home for people who've been in Taiwan or Israel (over previous 3 weeks). Except those from really low risk places (like the NZ, rest of Australia), everyone else does their quarantine in designated hotels.

Here though deliveries are always to the apartment door, and most have split-system aircons (or if not, just fans).

But basically when risk is lower they decided measures less stringent that HQ were needed. Who woulda thunk?

SA press conference delayed from 11am to 11.45 SA time. I’ve just arrived at Dans to avoid the queue. If it’s the miners then in no way does this represent the need to lock down.

Latest mail is a family of 6 in Rostrevor with a connection to miners. Have been in isolation so no lockdown incoming
I’m reading that lockdown is about to be announced. It shouldn’t because we have a footy match here Friday.
