Australian state border restrictions

Found it!
Please note: the Australian Capital Territory does not have a separate LGA. ACT is currently classified as Level 2 - Low Risk.

ii seem to remember reading something like that at one stage but couldn't see it again. Thanks for finding it. At least we do exist.😁

I've had pause to think. I think what SA is about to do in opening the borders is actually quite gutsy given our zero community transmission for so many months. Of course it needs to be done, but it will be our actions that bring it in.

I totally agree. It's not exactly a sacrificing the maidenhead moment, but along the same lines. That's why the fussing about the edges is so silly. If you're going to do it, enjoy it. Covid is coming to every State. If not today, tomorrow.

Baby steps. Come mid December it will be all in. We will still need to wear masks. Ok with that after five months of zero transmission. We just need not to be so reactive with ‘punitive’ action by shutdowns.

I went to a Floral Festival today with open gardens. They had Covid Agents. So in the gardens you had to wear a mask but when you went inside to floral displays masks were not required. Hmmm.

Ooopsies, Bev got it all muddled up. Only in Queensland 😆

Good to see that if Queenslanders come to Sydney that they won’t be able to use NSW health funded tests.

Why does QLD have to ruin everything all the time... sigh

It's not a loophole, it's a problem inherent in the concept of having a test in a specific time-frame. The comparison with speeding is plain stupid. If someone's visiting Sydney for a two hour meeting, what difference does it make if they test in Sydney or Queensland before they leave? Either way, it's pointless.

If they try to do a free test in NSW as well, they’ll have to isolate under the public health order.

I expect NSW testing sites to refuse testing to those without a NSW address.

If leaving SA for 72 hours or less, regardless of where to, no Covid test required.

QLD welshes on the National Cabinet deal. I would say it, if the minutes were publicly available. For sure, I will not be booking a qld holiday, as I know they will react to bad news - with a lockdown. Besides Whitsundays are doing so well, they do not need tourist dollars in the high season. I speculate desperate people needing to see their relative at xmas, will find novel and unofficial ways to achieve their hearts wish. NT has just found out some people do not respect 'rules'.

It may have been discussed before but coming from NSW ( a level 2 low risk area ) the post Nov 23 requirements ask for “ COVID-19 test taken in 72 hours prior to arrival in SA”. Does this include a confirmed negative result, or can you enter even if the results are pending ?
A friend is booked to fly tomorrow morning and is concerned the results might not be through by then. The confusion arrives because the website specifically mentions a negative covid result if travelling from a high risk area :-
  • Negative COVID-19 test result received in 72 hours prior to arrival in SA

Loophole my A**e - it's a function of their own idiotic rule. o_O o_O

Are they saying people should no longer go to SYD for one day meetings because their rules are absurd?

And I pointed this "loophole" out way upthread - they are a little slow on the uptake.

Cheers skip
