Australian state border restrictions

No one is going to even bother checking this stuff.
I think you might be wrong initially but we will cave in after a few days or a week.
Will be a lot of extra staff at ADL next week meticulously checking details and enforcing requirements. Give it a week and they will realise it’s pointless

SA have released their LGA risk level list

Quite a few "moderate risks" there
What kind of moron designed that website?

Capture1222.JPG

Just a big long multi-page alphabetical list of LGA's - haven't these people heard of scaleable maps showing the different risk levels and LGA boundaries? They must all think we are Rainman and have memorized all the LGA areas in every state in Australia.

Appears there has already been a successful challenge to NTG/CHO directives:

I suspect non-compliance is going to be off the charts. The more complicated these bureaucratic public servants make them the less people will follow them.
It doesn't take a genius to figure this out

Overly complex rules = impossible to follow
Impossible to follow = impossible to monitor

When the inevitable happens and COVID gets in, the government then gets to point at the "rulebreakers" instead of actually critically thinking about the situation. Tried and true playbook for the last 18 months, few have cottoned on to the reality.

Indeed.

Setting LGA by LGA based rules for pax that are double vaxed = Time to make some back-of-house staff cutbacks in the SA Health department.
Though every State's Health department has too many back room staff and not enough front line staff.QLD found that out in the initial Inquiry into Bundabereg Hospital and Dr.Patel run by a private barrister Mr. Morris. He got the Director general to say under oath that 60% of QLD Health workers are non clinical.
So no wonder we are having such convoluted Covid regulations.

So I submitted two ‘test’ returns from overseas into SA last night. Today both approved. One to isolate at our apartment and the other to stay at a separate house.

Ah, yes, but the more convoluted the regulations get, Minister, the more administrative staff are required to compile and check them. And any anomalies and inconsistencies will of course require further convolutions to rectify. You can be sure, Minister, that each of these convolutions has been exhaustively reviewed, discussed and approved at an administrative level.

cheers skip

All recent posts on vaccination requirements for businesses etc not related to state border restrictions has been moved to the relevant vaccination thread.

Oh agree / SA Public servants will give up quickly - I cannot believe the SA tax payers are footing the bill for this so meekly it’s going to cost a bomb 😂

I did mean though people are just not going to do so it, it’s far too complicated to understand for the normal Jane and John. All they are seeing is ‘SA is open and you have to get 1 test’ and they will just rock up… no ones going to read that ridiculous border website that looks like a two year old programmed it

With the SA LGA classification, I don't understand which risk level you will be classified as. Say you live in an LGA which is level 2, but visit Sydney CBD which is level 3 for say shopping, are you level 2 or 3 risk when you visit SA?

Tell a half truth/lie to avoid the test within 24 hours of arrival and isolate until arrival test taken?!?!

Half of Sydney looks like level 3. For that matter similar issues in Melbourne.

I've done the checker. It asks if you've been in a high risk area within the last 7 days. That includes international. Home Quarantine for international arrivals is at last confirmed for 7 days until we reach 90% for 12+ which should be in very early January. Of course it is up to each person to answer truthfully. What could possibly go wrong. But give it two weeks and all up for grabs I'd say.

I still believe we will be open completely before Christmas. There will be a ”revisal” of the modelling and magically in 2 weeks time we will set a date before Christmas for opening. Just like this Tuesday’s opening which is earlier than the guidelines

Yes I tend to agree. At least the announcement will be made anyway. Given the restrictions Im thinking it wont be as dire as the doomsayers are predicting.

How will they even know, just don’t say you’ve been anywhere apart from you know is whatever the best rating is. Sorry, these ridiculous rules deserve to be broken. And they will.
