Australian state border restrictions

So qualifying reference is to population but of course doesn't say which population - Country, State LGA?

NSW as a whole is already more than 90% double vaxed, but of course there are several LGAS in the 80-89% range and 2 under 80%.

They better plan on doing the test at the airport or border, otherwise you cant Quarantine until taking the test as you have to leave to leave ISO to get tested!

Residents aside most visitors would spend fewer than 14 days in SA, they need to have a way for you to notify you have left and not be chased for silly symptom checks etc.

You can get tested at the airport and results usually back within 12 hours. So unless a later flight (7pm?) results may be there by early next morning. I was tested at 5pm and had results back by 11pm that night.

In reality this is hardly an issue for those wanting to go to the Test match. Or visit Adelaide or SA. Not as bad as predicted here at all.

Oh and you know all those details you gave to the SA Government for the existing Cross Border Registration process, well you can throw all that in the bin, and start again from scratch with another email address, mobile number, 2 factor authentication dance, DOB, vacc certificate, personal details, where you will be after you leave SA, brand of underwear your grandma wears etc 'cause who dosen't love giving out personal information like that right?

I may have considered going to Adelaide next week if there was no COVID test requirement, but I don't want to take a test that I don't need to take and risk a false positive scuppering my international travel plans.

Hopefully early next year they'll have removed the testing requirement. I want to see them confirm they'll remove the testing requirement before I book. I've had multiple trips to SA that I've had to cancel due to travel bans and/or ridiculous testing requirements.

Come 90% of 12+ it's all done and dusted and that will happen by end of December. See the goal post change there? And that includes international arrivals as well. We will be all grown up by then.

This is hilarious. I think it's a translation of SA border rules and it's all jumbled up. Worth a read.

So the border entry approval for SA was to go live at 5pm. 2.5 hours later it's 'preparing'. SA Health explained the servers couldn't cope with the demand. Ah, Nup. It never went live. They must think we are idiots. Next excuse will be Russian or other hackers. Just like the Census.

Too much renewable energy. The sun shone too hot and the surplus of power forced the SA Health servers to shut down.

China did it 🙂

Tasmania have confirmed they aren’t screening passengers on incoming flights.

There will be some spot checks, that’s it.

So those who fly into Tassie know that you have to get past the cute sniffer dogs first.

And there now also might be a random public health person there too grabbing a person or two to check they are double vaxxed.

That is so sad. Tasmania is really not enforcing the need to be vaccinated to move about freely. I hope other states are more rigorous.

So people were complaining before about the proposed Covid tests required to enter Tas. Too much. Now apparently the entry requirements are too slack. 🤪 🤷‍♂️

I guess it makes a change from complaining about the weather . 🌩

Same for Queensland. I’ve been told the plan is to now “randomly target” approx 5% of flights. The screening points in the terminal will be removed and replaced with roaming QPS staff at the baggage claim area for “high risk” flights.
